New Merc

What merc should I get next? I have Skyhammer and Aura and Vassili at the moment. I can make about 10,000 a day (I have a super active social life guys lmao), so I am open to multiple suggestions. I have 45k now, but I haven’t gotten up to my 10k yet, so I can buy a 50k merc today. Who should I get? I was thinking either redeye or rhino (Just in a comp match with 2 rhinos, and then I just went med, and we rekt em).

Proxy and Bushwhacker are fantastic engineers if you are considering getting one. If you’re enjoying Bushwhacker this rotation, then I’d pick him up.

I don’t have Redeye yet, but he seems to be a rather accuracy dependent merc, more so than most of the others. From the looks of it, he’s quite balanced right now, so he’s unlikely to get nerfed like Phantom was, so Redeye’s a rather safe investment.

Rhino is… situational at best. There are some parts of maps where he’s totally useless and there are some that he can hold a position for a very long time, provided the medic supporting you is good. He’s not a very good all-arounder though, and the minigun loses much of it’s effectiveness at range.

It’s your choice on what merc you want. Just have fun while getting those last few credits. :slight_smile:

Between Redeye and Rhino, I’d say Redeye is the better choice, but his weapons are primarily medium to long range so if you like Vassili’s weapons, you’ll probably like Redeye’s. I’m personally not fond of Rhino’s sluggish playstyle.

Sawbonez or Bushwhacker to be honest, they’re two mercs I think everyone should own.

Thanks for the replies! I think since I have no life, I am going to go Redeye (not many of him out yet, which means people don’t know how to counter him, and then after that I can get bushwhacker and proxy (have a really good silver card for her, then sparks, cause shes dope and I just got a really good cobalt card for her.

Rhino’s very situational, but if you have the right medics (who actually revive you) and you are in the right place to lock down, you can just wreck.
RedEye is more of a stealth play but I highly doubt he will be nerfed like Phantom, but I’m sure there’s gonna be tweaks.
I would go with RedEye.

The biggest thing I’d say unless you’re planning on pulling in more credits regularly is: try the merc you want before you buy it. It’s better to wait out a free rotation and experience the merc first hand before dropping 50k credits on it if you’re at all unsure.

That said, @XavienH5’s suggestion of RedEye seems to fit if you already like Vassili.

proxy. there are many mercs that fit a certain occasion but not much more but while proxy has her specal uses there isnt a map in the game (so far) that proxy isnt good in and the double smg loadout is sweet :slight_smile:

so based on what you got proxy would probably be most usefull to you and if you play her and really push the obj you are going to make a lot of credits towards your next merc :slight_smile:

Well I bought redeye and am disappointed. His damage output from a highly skilled player is extremely weak compared to other mercs. Yet, I continue to play with him too see if some obj tactics and scenarios with the smoke can make up for it, well so far, not even close.

I actually feel that he is near the bottom as far of competitiveness, others will disagree. My opinion is not because I don’t understand how to play him or have poor aim, I typically go >3:1 kd ratio and lead my team in score and objectives no matter what merc i select. Dispite what some have said, I find redeye to have the lowest skill ceilings of all the mercs, mostly because he has 3 of the worst weapons in the game, has poor speed, average health, and poor objectives. He would have been viable with the dreiss but the continued dreiss nerfs (that not a single player wants) makes him noncompetitive at the moment.

Yes he is not op, but still good enough. Don’t coun’t me in on competitive, as I am to old for this “shit”(yes more bad than good days :P), but starting off with wanting to prove your skill by stating your average kd-r? Lol :wink: Not even a nice try.

And edit and imo and whatever… Proxy (Competative and jumping-moving-happy) vs. Bushwhacker (Not used/banned in competative but with right placement of the turret and having the Kek-10, an awsome weapon, awsome in public), and Fletcher beeing one of my not-even-closed-to-beeing-liked mercs… my opinion is between proxy and bush…
So do you shave? Or more simply asked… did you try them before if the credits/real-money bother you?) If not… just do it!

All I can say is wait till free rotation for Redeye before you buy him. Don’t get me wrong, he is great and I adore him. However, out of all the mercs currently out he is (similar to but I’d say higher so) an extremely high skill cap merc. He can do some amazing things and really help the team out but you’ve got to be very on point to do well.

It also doesn’t help he only gets pitiful amount of points from spotting (which you should do, a lot) and his smoke grenade gives no kind of support EXP. So don’t expect to top the board unless you’re pulling some amazing KD numbers. You play redeye, play to win and help the team as much as possible. Playing for board position will be pointless.

Yes, but as the other mercs have been already nerfed, it will be, simply put, a lottery-game, what will be left of redeye after all those (reddit-)babies got their will.
So imo, get some engineer, and as Turtle seems to be a long way to go… yes… Exactly. Your decision, your decision, but as you have staited, it only takes a week for a merc you know.
