ABILITY #1:Tornado, operable like kira’s laser, STORM goes into a completely immovable state and is highly week when commanding his tornado as he communicates with the weather gods bringing up a little mini map(which does not show location of enemies only there deployables and EV etc.
The tornado does 100dmg per second in a 1m area for 7sec with a 45sec cool down.
ABILITY #2: small ammo pack giving 1mag of ammo but in higher supply (this ammo idea is not mine).

Turns out you did use the ammo idea, good for you.

My opinion on this on the other hand, it seems drastically underpowered. Can’t move, 1m range, 7 seconds, has a debuff of some sort so I’m assuming less bullets to kill, and lastly you’re at a loss when any decent player flanks you.

Make the tornadoes carry sharks that puke out Fletcher that shits out spicy meatballs then I think it would be balanced.

This is a worse Kira. It could be fixed though, just give him LMGs and the Grandeur, and let him target his weather control like Kira could.

Another thing I should note is the fact that the tornado does too little DPS. I could understand if it has the same cooldown as Fragger’s grenades though.

This is abusive. It’s like saying “please don’t give me any criticism that might make me angry” which, coming from someone that did a troll thread stating that SD devs won’t listen to merc suggestions, is saying “don’t give me anything that says my idea is bad”.

Like we said before, come up with a character idea that is original and doesn’t make another character redundant, and maybe you could get some “respectful” (positive) comments.

But hey, it’s not like I could do anything if blind luck was all that kept me from saying “this makes X redundant”.

(With a different type of device offcoarse).
And buff his laser to 120dps for 8seconds with a 40second cool down instead?

i really like jjmar idea of giving him grandeur or even snipers (for divercity) (maybe it would need a smaller health in that case)
for the tornado i think the the little add on is useless but thats just my opinion and a way to make it better is maybe choose two points that the tornado will travel and during the movement it could attract players and deal more dammage the more you’re near the tornado

How about it’s a dart gun storm control thingy.

  • The ability is used like a dart gun that is shot and targets point A and B (darts can be destroyed and add on a 5 second cool down to the ability)
  • It creates a evenly distributed cloud line (8m radius each cloud) that slows down players in its radius
  • Slow down effect is like a concussed nade from Thunder
  • You can increase the length of it by picking the second place for the dart, (max range of ability is 30m)
  • cool down is increased depending on how far you shoot dart B from dart A (1 minute max cool down)
  • only affects out doors
  • Distance scales with cool down (lowest being 26 seconds, 8m line of clouds)
  • Clouds have an EMP effect

Counter play

  • The ability sounds off a loud thunder effect that is easily heard like Sky’s airstrike
  • Darts glow brightly (can only shoot them if they’re not activated)
  • Clouds leave small 1.6m areas in between each cloud that allow you to run through
  • It deals no damage to objectives and doesn’t affect them

I’m spitting out the general idea, I don’t know how to accurately put it in words so ask questions if you need more information.

Lastly buff those mini ammo packs to allow 15% ability reduction if picked up and a 20% if landed directly (gives 2 mags of ammo instead of the one), there are 5 minis and regenerate in 6 seconds with 35 second life times.

(and the weapon choice by JJ is good)

I’m uncertain about primaries. I think it would be interesting if he had a different sniper rifle that’s unique.

I’ve been thinking about giving a sniper rifle SMG hybrid known as the AS VAL

Something where you can use like an SMG in CQC and better range capabilities with a scope. Balanced by being a heavy slow shooter, gets a lot of spread if too many rounds are fired in quick succession, has a small magazine of 16 rounds maybe, etc.

A hybrid unique gun like this is something I’ve been thinking about, but hey maybe something else is better?

@sgtCrookyGrin get the F2P FPS game on steam warmode.
It has that gun and its lots of fun.
But its automatic in the game with a silenser and very accurate.

Before I go, I need to leave one statement for future reference:

Bolt actions/PDP + ammo regeneration = NO.

Bolt actions and the PDP are supposed to run out of ammo quickly because that if they don’t, then players would just get unlimited kills. Ammunition is their weakness, which is why most of my FS + Sniper ideas involve an alternative to ammunition regeneration, i.e. making abilities restore faster or last longer.

Also listen to @Dysfnal because that if you could provide a gameplay effect, chances are you could also make the flavor fit in with the game. Science fiction has weather control gimmicks one time or another, and fairytale-esque magic wands could easily be equated to a gun of the plasma or the ballistic variety. This is a game where London gets nuked, and there are high-tech devices meant to keep out radioactive material.
