[New Merc] Plasmatron

(MrSoUndso) #1

A merc with the same hp and sp like skyhammer.

Short story: Plasmatron was working at a project to heat up helium to plasma.
When he heard about the dirty bomb accident he stole the technology and made a weapon out of it.

Abbilitys:
With Q:
Plasmatron heats up his PLASMACANNON to shoot hot plasma.

Only Cooldown when overheaded too much.
Damage between 20 and 250 (only headshoots with full charge)
Edit 1: Removed E ability and splash back

do you… KNOW what plasma is…? its superheated gas, or blood, depending on what you’re asking about.

why did i ask that? because plasma, if you’re indeed talking about superheated gas like i’ll assume you are, can’t “bounce off walls” or be “filled into a container” or “spread itself on a surface and stay there”, its primarily air. really, really, hot air. okay, its probably not, i cant remember, its a different element entirely, but you can get plasma by heating up gas, just like you can get gas by heating up liquid.

but i digress, forget scientific advancements in the near-future setting of DB, this probably isnt even physically possible. hell, its probably less possible than lightsabers are.

Can confirm, Plasma cannot bounce off walls, belong in regular containers, ect.

I dont now if plasmacannons are possible. But Sparks REVIVER is impossible. You cannot bring people back on their feet with shooting a lasser into them.
And superheated gas can be filled into a container. And i liked the idea of plasma thats under realy high pressure and spread out of the PLASMACANNON.

The REVIVR doesn’t shoot lasers. If you read the lore, it specifically states that it shoots a “charged projectile” that electrocutes enemies.

Superheated gas cannot be stabilised in a conventional container. The closest anyone has ever gotten to stabilising plasma without stimulus is 5 milliseconds. Unless the container is capable of maintaining boiling delay, it cannot work. The only way a device like the Plasma-Cannon is possible is if it rapidly heats a gas within it and immediately ejects it. Splashback is also not the nature of plasma.

Doesn’t really matter, it’s the future.

(disclaimer: i am not a scientist. i just have a lot of random practical knowledge and used to watch a ton of discovery channel)

ah, the “someone else is also wrong” card, i remember me and my little brother using it on each other all our kid lives until we grew out of it when i hit 13.

in any event, the REVIVR is a long-distance defibrillator. no one ever said it was a laser gun.
electric pads that instantly heals knife, cricket bat, bullet and explosion wounds are impossible, but for gameplay reasons it has to be. the REVIVR might fire electrically-charged projectiles that work the same way as defibs instead of a laser bolt or electric blast, i dunno.

you wanna know the problem with putting superheated gas into a container? 2 things: energy and heat.
since room temperature isnt close enough to superheated gas, the heat will disperse super-quickly. think how long a cup of hot chocolate will stay hot if you bury it in snow. the heat will be sapped into the cooler surroundings in an instant, which brings us to the next problem: energy
since the heat disperses super-quickly, pretending for a moment the container doesnt immediately melt first or become too hot to hold, you need energy to keep plasma from turning back into gas. how long do you think the biggest portable battery can sustain superheated gas?

and then of course there’s the question of WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO STUFF PLASMA INTO A CONTAINER IN THE FIRST PLACE? to make a plasma nade? well, you’re better off doing it like this:
put something into a container, i dont know what, maybe something dense, then heat it up so much it powers past liquid and gas to plasma, maybe with an explosion. if any of that sounds familiar, you probably read “The Sum of All Fears” and/or think that sounds like how nukes blow up, except in nukes its about inward-directed explosions compressing the plutonium or whatever they stick into nukes nowadays into critical mass which sciences up the explosion to make it super-big and radioactive.

but i digress, if you wanted a plasma nade, there’s a more realistic way to go about it(probably. just say its a nade that shoots plasma everywhere or something.). i also noticed how you didnt defend plasma balls bouncing off walls. might want to delete that line of words from the op

Ok I’m going too remove the e ability and the “splash back” Do you have a better idea for the e ability?
(Not more ammopacks please)
