New Merc Ideas: Incinerator, SteelJaw

I was bored so I decided to share my ideas with you guys, please let me know what you think.

Merc: Incinerator
Health: 140
Speed: 390
Role: Assault
Weapons: MG36, M4A1, Stark AR
Secondaries: Smjuth, Deagle, Simeon
Appearance: Full face mask ( similiar to battlefield 3 russian support class), Helmet with a visor, Juggernaut armor ( a bit smaller than rhinos)
Abilities:

Incendiary Ammunition

  • Cool Down 40 seconds
    Once activated this allows Incinerator to fire flaming bullets into the enemy causing damage over time. It can cancel health regenerations and Instant heals. Although health packs and healing pulses can cancel the burning but cannot heal the enemies health. This ability can also be used to damage EV’s and secondary objectives such as generators.

Ballistic Shield
-Cool Down 30 seconds
More of an item than an ability, the Ballistic shield can block enemy fire to protect yourself and teammates. Although it is vulnerable to explosives such as grenades, stickies, airstrikes and any other form of explosives. It can also withstand Rhino’s mini gun, but only for a short period of time. The Ballistic Shield can also be used as a melee weapon by hitting enemies a few times.

Merc: SteelJaw
Role: Engineer
Health: 110
Speed: 420
Weapons: P90, Crotzni, Blishlok
Secondaries: All light pistols
Abilities:

MAARS (Modular Advanced Armed Robotic System)
-Cooldown: 1 minute
The MAARS is a robotic rover that can be controlled by SteelJaw. It can be driven anywhere around the map. It can fire bullets to kill enemies and even repair objectives, although at a slower speed. ( specific augment to speed up repairing).

Overall, the Ballistic Shield isn’t appealing considering Turtle already provides cover, but Incendiary Ammunition and the MAARS could work well if refined further.

Incinerator sounds fun to play, but a design change could be had due to the similarities with Stoker. Plus “Incinerator” just doesn’t have the cleverness of a Merc name. Something like Hotshot, Calibre, and Forge sound cooler.

SteelJaw fits right in with the Dirty Bomb crowd, and the idea of an Engineer able to perform long range Objective work is something the game could explore.

Mind saying the hp for the maars and how much damage it does? But yea ive always like ideas of machines helping out for battle.

I don’t think a riot shield would work I’m DB, especially with how varied player models are. I’m also not sure how incendiary ammo would work. Does he switch to another weapon that already is loaded up or does he replace the mag in his primary? Plus, why wouldn’t you just put in more incendiary ammo in all the time since it’s a direct upgrade from standard ammo. Then how does it deal damage differently? Does it do DOT or just a direct damage boost?

A merc which can complete an objective with NO risk of being shot at? Why do people keep requesting lethal objective completing drones and remote cars when they can’t spot a stationary proximity mine half the time? … And proximity mines don’t end games when 8 of that merc are spammed on a team.

I’ve pointed out the issues with damage over time as well. In something like tf2, the burning is put out INSTANTLY by health packs and the proper health is given. Since DB doesn’t have health packs scattered throughout the map, this isn’t a valid option.

No but we have medics who give out health packs and medics that have AOE heals.

By default anyone will lose a 1v1 against this merc even after the merc is killed. - Without a medic, death is basically ensured.
