New Merc Idea: Archim

Archim is an engineer type merc, named after the Greek mathematician and engineer ‘Archimedes’. His job is to stop the enemies from diffusing the bomb! ‘How does he do this?’ - You may ask.
Archim has two abilities, from here i shall list them:

ABILITIES

Ability 1 - Disruptor
This ability is Archim’s primary ability. Archim can go up to the bomb that he must defend and hold ‘f’. This increases the ‘strength’ of the bomb so it takes longer to diffuse. Approximately 5 seconds longer. However, this effect only lasts for 30 seconds.

This ability can also ‘disrupt’ enemy turrets. Again, Archim can run up to a turret (probably from behind) and place the disruptor on the turret. This will make the turret take longer to react and have a slightly slower fire rate. This effect will wear off after 30 seconds so it would be best to organise with your teammates.

The cooldown for this ability is 45 seconds and it takes the amount time to diffuse a bomb to disrupt a bomb/turret.

Ability 2 - (???)
This ability allows Archim to run without being noticed by enemy turrets. This ability is activated instantly (maybe an animation of him pressing some buttons on a gadget) and only lasts for 3 seconds. The cooldown is 10 seconds.

SPEECHES

“Oooooh, that has gotta hurt!”
“Turn that there and… bam!” - When Archim finishes disrupting a turret/bomb
“I ain’t afraid! I think you should be though!”
“Machines, who needs em’” - When he goes invisible from machines (ability 2)

WEAPONS

Primary: Remburg 7, M4A1, Blishlok
Secondary: Selbstadt .40, MP 400
Melee: Stiletto

APPEARANCE

I don’t have any concept art for this character so it is up to your imagination. Here are some of my ideas.

  • A little bit chubby
  • A tool belt with tools in
  • black trousers
  • Dirty white vest
  • White stubble on his face.
  • Short ‘untamed’/messy hair.
  • Some shoes

Why not instead of slowing down the turret, how about he can turn enemy proxy mines, sticky bombs, and turrets to your side for 30 secs by using an AoE throwable similar to the heartbeat sensor.

Ooh and maybe he could instead “disrupt” incoming grenades from fraggers and naders.

Good idea BuzzBam! So, the disrupt ability is a throwable which deactivates any turrets, mines or sticky bombs in a x radius. Cool down is 40 seconds. Ability lasts for 10 seconds.

Ability 2 is the same.
