@Meerkats you know the rockets can be shot down by wall of lead the minigun is shooting?

(ive been doing this for the past 3 days)
(its consistent enough that you can counter javelin head-on)

currently nobody in the game are hard-counter to anyone specific and any aura or skyhammer can shi t on anyone providing they have the basic knowledge and the skill required to operate the merc

Use tactics and skill? Impossible!

It’s just easier to call everything OP and cry for nerf, sometimes before things are even released.> @neverplayseriou said:

idk what game you’ve been playing @Sorotia but the average amount of players is almost as low again as february this year.

All SD is gonna do by pushing out this broken content is kill their game.

Oh wise mystic? Can you give me the powerball numbers…since you can obviously see the future and you know exactly how her powers will work before she is even released.

@neverplayseriou is right

were back to the february 2017 tier number of player
i just checked the steam chart
http://steamcharts.com/app/333930

probably because there currently no new content.

or

people are just going back to school and october holiday is only 1 day i think (columbus day)

Well I’m still right…when we get new content more people show up…these people are trying to destroy new content because they can’t adapt.

They have no bloody idea how this drone will work, how it will perform…and they’re crying nerf…they want to refuse new things (Which is what brings activity.)

Crybabys who after over a month still haven’t been able to adapt to Javelin because it’s easier to cry nerf than put forth effort.

This whole thing is so ironic because they cry rivers about how OP Javelin is but they introduce something to help combat her and they whine. Probably because they’re playing Javelin while crying how OP she is.

It’s too early to say yes or no on this one. I’m still glad that Guardian is here. I mean, look at her new abilities and shiny weapons? It was about the time to get content. I’m little bit concerned about airstrike counter, but we’ll see. New mercs, new tactics. Can’t wait to see how she perform on field.

(neverplayseriou) #104

New things don’t bring activity for more than a few days, if they would just start balancing the game and push out bug fixes and then actually advertise their game that would bring activity.

But no rather then just balancing the game they currently have they’re gonna make even more different weapons even though the current ones are still poorly balanced.

And like I’ve said before anyone thinking Guardian is actually balanced must’ve never thought of people actually working together and then picking aura/turtle/guardian.

(TheStrangerous) #105

Still wonder about that Kira’s laser.
Will it block? Cause if it does then…

(Drac0rion) #106

I was away from DB for like a year while trying to somewhat keep up to date on what was happening with the game.

During that whole time, there were nearly nothing done about the game balance.

Burst fire meta is still going strong since their initial buff like over a year ago?
How long did it take SD to finally nerf the body damage on snipers?
How balanced was Javelin on release? How much did they overnerf Javelin’s ammo and Grandeur?

For me SD has clearly proven their inability to balance. So no, I do not trust them to release a merc that will actually be somewhat balanced if their focus is just to rush and push out more new mercs.

What’s the point of releasing broken mercs. They may bring in a few new faces, but what does it matter if they won’t stay even long enough till the new merc gets actually balanced?

summer squash 2016 must have been really fun that we lost half of the player base ja?

its beter to release all the content first and then fix the bugs
not the other way around

(neverplayseriou) #108

summer squash wasn’t the cause of the player loss, it was sd doing fuck all for months.

My concern right now is how Dirty Bomb seems to be straying down the path of MOBA with pick / counterpick mechanics like Overwatch.

I get it; arguably, Dirty Bomb has always had this mechanic. Aura station got you feeling down? Pineapple or two will sort you right out. That’s the power of vitamin C. But frags don’t exist specifically as a counter. Most problems in Dirty Bomb can be solved via liberal application of frags. Proxy harassing your medic? Apply frag to Proxy. Or bullets. Bullets tend to also work pretty well. Preferably when deposited into the face region.

Like I’ve said before, I’m of the opinion Dirty Bomb has more than enough mercs and has had more than enough mercs for a long time now. Since Stoker in fact.

Maybe people want new stuff?

Because you know that 1 1/2 year drought DB had did wonders for the population of the game.

Now that the game is getting some TLC we’re starting to see more new players, I wonder why?
Times I have played League of Legends in my life: Zero.
Times I have played League of Legends in response to introduction of new hero: Zero.

Why would people who don’t care about Dirty Bomb suddenly care just cause there’s some new merc when they already didn’t care about any of the earlier 20+ mercs?

Different people are motivated to play games for different reasons. I’m motivated by good gameplay. Apparently, you’re motivated by other things.

@neverplayseriou is probably more interested in a tight, focused experience as opposed to just another Overwatch Lite.

(Reddeadcap) #110

So, lets think this through.

She’ll clearly have the Hurtsall rifle, my guess is she’ll have 2 more automatic rifles, maybe the Shar-c for a longer range/more damage and either M4A1 or Timik, or likely Dreiss, Hurtsall and another automatic.

pistol wise, maybe 2 other all around semi-automatic pistols, maybe one magnum?

Melee weapons, She’ll have the batons, for sure, maybe the axe and another newer melee?

Guardian is sacrificing healing for explosive denial, a direct counter to many other merc special abilities and better damage dealing than other medics, she might even have 120 health too.

Guardian has an above average defibrillator if it doesn’t have a cooldown, it makes her better than other medics due to her range and aoe but she doesn’t have the range that Sparks has.

In short, She’s sacrificing the ability to give health in favor of the ability to:

Stop deaths due to projectiles via her drone, countering many other merc abilities.

Revive multiple teammates that die from firefights while under the drone field.

She isn’t going to be a good main medic, but as a secondary backup one, especially stopping an assault of airstrikes and grenades by the enemy team.

(GatoCommodore) #111

im wondering how much the trophy system can take?

if guardian is becoming a staple i think Skyhammer cooldown buff might be next in line

Oh yes, you’re right…just because you think the game doesn’t need any more mercs that means everyone hates the idea.

There you heard it @Meerkats spoke so the game shouldn’t get any other mercs! Problem solved!

Yeah because one person doesn’t like more options doesn’t mean other people do?

Also posted this in the Phantom balance thread #324353244534345

Phantom should get the anti version of her bubble ability, acting like the EMP or turning deployables into friendly.

This oughta even out the odds. About time we get the proper saboteur ability.

That would actually be pretty f-ing cool…I’d play Phantom more if I could turn deployables!

(Xerny) #115

So,

She’s kind of a mix between Jager from R6S (Rainbow Six Siege)

And a Mercy from Overwatch.

Oh well, the only “defensive” medic we currently have is Aura, meanwhile Sparks,Sawbonez and Phoenix are more offensive based mercs.

Can’t wait to see the shananigans on defense and ranked teams using 1 Turtle, 2 Aura, 1 Guardian and 2 Rhinos.

You can play Aura as hit and run assassin. Her speed works well in this context. And even if you can’t kill an enemy yourself before you dash away, you provide a great distraction and make the job easier for your team mates.

Just put down your health station at a good spot before you go out on a rampage.

(Guziol) #117

@TheStrangerous I would play phantom 24/7 if i could turn enemy deployables against them.

I’m talking about a ranked position so to say. I mean, in a ranked play you WOULDN’T go lone wolf style and just attempt to kill the whole team right? And even so if you want to go and flank the enemy and attempt to take care of 2-3 Mercs, then you’ll be really far away from your team and that means you can’t revive them, and you’ll have to rely on another medic to do the job, if you have another one of course. Plus let’s not forget about the mercs with explosives that are able to destroy your healing station with a single explosive, also other flankers.

Still, can’t wait to just sit back and wait till my team dies and then pop out and revive them with the Biotic(?) Pulse.

(GatoCommodore) #119

Real question tho

does Guardian Defib deals damage?
if yes then it would be spammed even worse than fletcher stickies

but its cool that it somehow makes you feels like the iron man

With each new merc with their deployable, the maps are turned more and more into deployable junkyard :s

We need some recycling saboteur crew. Starting with Phantom. Hopefully future recon will be actually saboteur, rather than sniper.
