My prediction
I kinda think you need to look at her not as a medic but as an assault character that has a res. She can make areas that you usually go through safe which is useful, also shes more Dmg focus with her new AR and pistol.
Definitely SD needs to tread carefully with this one

wtf airstrike was a projectile you could shoot down?!
Nope, you can shoot Javelin’s rocket though. This ability destroys projectiles
and I thought they could buff turret with the ability to shoot down projectiles/airstrikes

Imagine an aura station that also disables air strikes and explosives in the radius. That’s basically what this is going to be (if it has 100% uptime). You’re right that you could shoot the aura station (at least if there wasn’t also a turtle shield) but that doesn’t mean it’s not insanely overtuned. How can I know this? Because attacking an aura station without explosives or air support is very, very hard. Throw in a turtle shield and good luck delivering on Chapel, etc.
The analysis is pretty simple. Aura/Turtle strategies are already good, and a 100% uptime Trophy negates the strategy’s primary, and giant, weakness. Aura is great even in a world where every fire support and explosive character counters her station pretty hard. So it’s easy to predict basic stuff: if the trophy has 100% uptime there are going to be major problems. It’s going to be like Turtle shield on the Vault machine gun, but now in the entirety of Chapel, Trainyard, etc. On the maps where this is strong, it will be so strong that a Kira will be almost required.
Now Trophy might easily not have 100% uptime and I could be worried about nothing. But it would be a lot easier to give SD the benefit of the doubt on @$!# the balance pooch if they hadn’t just finished releasing an absurdly overtuned merc.
Except that isn’t what it’s going to be like at all? Aura station heals people…the drone doesn’t.

objective protection in general, a usual idea is to bomb it as a defender to stop tje attackers from planting/defend it.

“Imagine an aura station that also disables air strikes and explosives in the radius. That’s basically what this is going to be (if it has 100% uptime).”
Pretty obvious you’re comparing it to a aura station but also kills explosives…which it isn’t. Both stations do different things…like comparing apples and oranges.
I wanted to play a new medic after all this time.
However a medic with no healing abilities and directly counters my mains other than sawbonez , I did not expect. I don’t think she’ll be very versatile, so I don’t think I’ll play her

- Guardian. Really now? Guardian? SD, with such interesting characters can you guys not come up with better names?
- So her drone acts like a Trophy System, which does relieve the tension from Javelin basically being the second Hadrada tearing through England, but how many “charges” does it have? We saw it cleanup an entire Skyhaggis Haggis Rain, and still seemed active. Also what’s its health and cooldown?
- Her shock field seems interesting as aass revival mechanic, though shame she doesn’t seem to be able to utilize it herself, but as with Sparkling Albino’s REVIVR, I think the devs intended this to be an AoE lighting shock thingy that damages enemies, in which case jow long should its cooldown be?
She seems like an appreciable addition to DB, and I personally love her design (she looks like a female Phoenix but no priest robe). Now let’s stretch our legs, grab some popcorn and watch as the forums descend into anarchy over a seemingly “OP” and “Game Breaking” merc once more.
That’s a priest robe? I always thought it was a hippy poncho…
If one thing is clear to me, and this may just be the nature of forums in general, it’s that all of these frequent merc releases, weapon additions, and the constant meta shifts seem like they’re going to tear this community in half and have people at each others’ throats until the game hits that fabled full release. Guess we’ve all gotta bring the gloves out until then. Should result in a better game overall in the end, I suppose.
She can revive, cannot heal, but has other protective measures. To have her viable she needs to have slightly better weaponry than sawbonez. The new weaponry allows the devs to only tweak her weapon without buffing/nerfing another mercs weapon as well. I think she will fit in well, is not going to be OP and if, she can be easily balanced.
You could for example lower the life-time of the droid every time it destroys a rocket/airstrike and the like. revive can be tuned by cd/radius/range/charge time.
community whines about too much spam
merc to counter spam gets released
community whines about the new merc not counterable by spam
xD

There are ways she can be balanced…but she isn’t even released yet and I’ve seen people calling for her drone to be removed.
It’s kinda silly to be honest.

Well, that is not something new I guess. Many things discussed here are kinda silly
I see a lot of people talking about a possible cd on her revive ability but im pretty sure it will work as regular defib.

This begs the question, does she put Sparks put of business? No, no self heal means no self sustain, arguably one of the things which make sparks as strong as is (apart from the ranged revives obviously).
Good point and for thar reason she has better firepower like the assault rifles. Love it!

Depending on how heretical we’re getting, those two are possibly the same thing.
It was really starting to annoy me that at least 50% of my deaths in a match are explosives. I like the addition.
