The character name isn’t really good, i mean, every character’s name is like a similiarity of their ability, take Kira for example, Kira is a method to say like “Beam of Light” with makes sense with her ability, don’t know what to say about the ability

Character name is very good, he sends out a “Ghost” or decoy of himself. How does that not make sense?

I was thinking about a mercenary like this before, but he’d have to have another ability to utilize him properly.

I mean most mercs’s name is the equivalent of their ability, and by just naming the ability “Ghost” seems a little bit boring, imo.

@SweetGenocide yeah, maybe it’s like calling Rhino “minigun”.
@Fyrix the ghost would have a (optional)15m EMP.

@SweetGenocide yeah…
This ability sends out a decoy mercenary.

In otherwords the mercenary sends out a “ghost” of himself.

This is similar to the decoy ability on Evolve Stage 2 for the “Wraith” boss. Which works well. Perhaps the decoy merc can explode?

(BushWanker) #7

@Fyrix exploding would be even better I think.
@SweetGenocide it is like that ability in hslo 4.

Distraction type abilities seem… lackluster. Against more competent players, a decoy only works for 1/2 a second at best.
Players react when shot. Bots do not. Furthermore, the addition of this sort of ability requires an A.I. to be programmed and implemented which accounts for terrain and walls. - Not something I feel the DB team wants to spend time on. This ability also seems to require a secondary ability, by default.

Even if enemies are spotted for shooting the decoy, or if the decoy body explodes or fakes a downed teammate before going boom, does it really hold a candle to someone with the damage output of Nader or Fletcher? - One of these two even has the benefit of being an engineer.

As nice as decoy abilities are on paper, I don’t have much faith in this sort of mercenary.
