New merc : Ace [Changeable]

Real Name : Abi Rohana
Came from Scottland

Stats:
130 Health
410 Speed

Primay : A bow that shoots arrows.
Secondary : Crossbow that shoots really small arrows
Melee : an arrow (she will stab with the spiky edge)

Abillity (2 Options)
Abillity option 1 : Fire Arrow which will explode upon impact. Cooldown : 10 seconds (Will have max 3 of those, every 10 seconds will get 1)
OR
Abillity option 2 : Electrified arrow which will zap enemies and destroy turrets healing station etc…in a certain radius : cooldown 30 seconds (wiill have 1 each 30 seconds)

The Bow : The Bow will have an option to hold the arrow longer for more distance and more damage
Damage : Thinking about 10-40 (depens on the holding arrow time) shooting arrows without holding will do 10 damage and can be spammable

The Crossbrow : Will act like a random pistol

The melee arrow : same as a knife

Dialouge : " I once killed 5 lions with 1 shot and 1 arrow, without the arrow.
OR
" Arrows, Arrows Everywhere."

Pls. This is literally the same as my Mercenary “Hunter”. I’m not saying you copied it but it’s a little bit more than a coincidence.

Of course their are alterations to your design of a bowman mercenary.

I think the general consensus was that it didn’t seem right in the DB universe. The coding may be extensive among other things. However this is a mercenary I’d like to see.

just one thing if he have always the same weapons that would break the loadout system so i think making the arrow a primmary weapon would be game breaking and if we dont use the arrow as a primarry the abilty will have no meaning so i think it should get some changes before thinking to get implemented

@yesser as long as the secondarys and melee’s were default and changable, no issue with it.

@yesser well, he could get different types of Bows… With different stats on each, same goes for the crossbow…But I really think this is a good idea for merc. cause you know, we do need a bow and arrow merc

Hmm yeah this is my first post here, you can check my profile if you dont believe it, so yeah I havent read any merc ideas except “quake” which was the newest after myn, sorry if I did copied, but yeah Im new here.
also, why does it even matters ? as long as this type of merc comes to the game. I dont see any issue with who thought about the idea , Im sure more people thought about the same basic idea.

No I do believe you, I just didnt go back to my message to edit it. I agree.

The bow would HAVE to be consistent for each loadout card due to abilities. The secondarys and melees would have to be interchangable. But that means 9 loadout cards with a bow if it follows suit.

Could instead have it likes sparks. The weapon a ability with no special shots and then secondary weapons as primarys.

Like @Fyrix said, all the loadouts will just have the crossbow slapped on, atleast change the ability as the crossbow or something like that, for example swap between bolts, so it could be like some sort of assault/utility character for example: Explosive Arrows = Assault ; Electrifying Arrows = Utility

Hmm well I kinda thought of just different crossbows - same as different pistols
BTW hunter is a much better name for this

A bow would have to be an ability. Unless you want to create an entire class that uses them, or call it an assault rifle/sniper

If that merc would have 1st abillity that it would be similar to Nader, but if she would have 2nd abillity that it would be more interesting I guess. I like 2nd abillity because she would be able to temporarly/permanently destroy deployables and also do some damage to enemies.

This reminds me to Spark’s revive gun, which would be nice that one more merc would have that kind of weapon.

Overall I like your suggestion. Can you tell us, what would the primary weapon be, I guess some kind of SMG?

The bow is the primary weapon.

If the bow was the ability, I presume he’d have a similar load of PDWs as Sparks. Though that’d negate the use of the special arrows.

If I got you right, you suggest that crossbow would be primary weapon with regular arrows (without flaming/exploding/electric addon) and that also would be those “special arrows” as an abillity?

crossbow uses bolt… it hurts man…

but instead of the longest you hold the bow the more powerful it is, i would rather make it like in real life, pulling the string is one quick move and then you need to quickly aim (with strong bow you cant hold it for to long)

soo if you pull the string there will be short moment (lets say after 1½ s) where you have bonus damage, but you can hold it for longer, BUT if you hold it for too long you will have lower dmg and accuracy

Nope I ment that the bow will be the primary and the crossbow will be the secondary, The abillties wont really make sense if the bow wont be the primary weapon. The abillities, yes they will be special arrows.

Oh yeah bolts lol, my bad, I thought about making each bow different max time for holding but thats adding a new stat, and I highly doubt that Dirty Bomb devs will approve it. I say different damage for different bows as well as stability, Fire rate (Which can switch from a spammable bow, to a much stronger sniper-like bow)

Mabye have the bow as a prime ability but you can hold 10 at a time w/ 7 second cooldown each

I’ve discussed bows and bolts in the past in regards to how they’re treated as projectiles and may use different hitboxes, and go against the common sense of using guns. This isn’t exactly gary’s mod here. While it could be lethal in some ways, projectiles’ effectiveness relies a lot on the opponents’ motions. - Something which makes the ability kind of bad for precise aiming in dirty bomb. Spamming into choke points also net very cheap kills, if they’re blind. This might annoy some people, who may feel that spam-y kills are ‘not earned’.

I come from tf2. I know these things. (arrow-to-head sound)
