If it were “easy”, it would be done by now, right?

Of course things should be fixed, as a matter of course, but new things should also be added over time. That’s just par for the course in online gaming, if the game is to remain competitive and financially feasible.

The best games and the titles with the most longevity receive regular updates over time. With microtransactions / cash shops, that’s how you keep people spending. New content also brings players back, and advertising of the new content also helps in introducing new people (potential money) to the game.
[/quote]

But the problem with new content is it builds up overtime until there’s a ton of extra work that you need to do, and you have to hours and hours of time into fixing all of it.

TF2 is a perfect example of this

I much rather fix what we have for now, especially since it’s plenty of content for the time being. The maps could have new routes or new aspects added to bring new life into them, and making the game run more smoothly is to me, more important than Turtle, Javelin, or maps for a game mode I don’t even enjoy (ahem, execution).

If your problem with Dirty Bomb is that there’s no new content, then I’d ask, are you even enjoying the game right now? Or are you just looking for things to complain about?

I am enjoying the game immensely.

I’ve unlocked all mercs through gameplay as a free player, and finding free merc code giveaways. I have some assortment of perk cards. I have not had to spend any money on the game, and truly for playing as much as I have, I feel a bit bad for not supporting the game financially.

Sure, im “content” for other players to shoot/bomb/mine, but I would take the opportunity to buy something if the game expanded through a new merc in particular. As it stands, I have a bank of game credits that can unlock any merc as soon as they arrive.

I would buy Turtle with real cash money if he arrived soon, just to support the game, and then just craft all his loadout cards with credits. (even with RNG, im sure I could get them all!)

I feel like I should just put (sarcasm) after some things I say :frowning:

@jubilantManatee well here was the last update we had on dockyard: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/31546/dev-stream-wrap-up-18jul16#latest though wow I realized how long ago that was :s its mostly done they just have to do the last bit past the final EV point.

@MarsRover Its all hands though on the Summer Squash. The map people are working on fixing the old maps, and since the maps share a bunch of small assets, a change to one of those could affect the other maps as well. I don’t know if the VOD is still up, but exedore talked about it on the dev stream at one point, I think it was the announcement of the summer squash maybe.

However, I do agree that fixing everything/improving performance is the right direction. What is the point of having a new map in a competitive game if you cannot get a stable framerate out of it?

It’s possible to both think that DB is the best shooter around and that we’re well overdue some new maps. Gallery doesn’t satisfy many players because it’s execution, and that leaves us with a drought on the obj/sw front. Before that we got Dome, a map that’s pretty much a massive whine magnet, and even that was quite a while ago now.

My problem is with the current maps and the lack of routes/gameplay options. Granted, there’s a lot, but just not enough with the style of shooter Dirty Bomb is. More jumps and less invisible walls would do wonders to open up the maps a bit and really spice up gameplay. The linear, 3-routes to obj on both sides COD-style game just gets old.

Just my opinion though. I prefer a different approach that many old FPS games had. Or even some games like Battlefield Bad Company had. With the destruction elements and map design, the gameplay was essentially open to interpretation. You could approach an objective in a ton of different ways.

Still though, no matter what, I will always say that Dirty Bomb is the best multi-player FPS currently available and one of the best of all time. It reminds me of one of those PS2 games that never really kicked off with multiplayer or that I just never had the opportunity to play while multiplayer was still up. :frowning:
