New maps and mercs

Hello,

I am a relatively new player.

I am enjoying the game so far, and it’s plastered across the game that this is a paid “beta”.

I cannot find any resource that gives info about new maps or mercs.

The maps are a bit too few. There should be at least 3 more maps to help break the monotony. Are there any slated for release?

And mercs- I have read that there were more mercs before the beta release, but cannot find any info on how many or what roles they play.

I like the game, and I am considering buying into it at least a little- can anyobe tell me or point to where I can find out more info?

http://dirtybomb.wikia.com/wiki/Dirty_Bomb_Wiki This has information of a few of the unreleased mercs including Aimee, Thunder, Stoker, Redeye and Phoenix. There’s also a merc called Turtle. I’m sure there’s more they are working on as well.

As for maps, they have a few for Objective/Stopwatch and they usually do special event weekends where we may see new maps or gamemodes such as Execution, which is essentially Demolition from Counter Strike. We’ve seen Dome for Obj/Stopwatch and Overground and Canal for Execution.

Yes, I see there are a few more maps being put together, thanks to the wiki resource.

I hope the maps come soon- the pool of maps is too small currently and becomes repetitive after a relatively short amount of playtime.

You can spend real cash money in the game shop.

That’s a paid beta.

Unless you’re a total freeloader, then the game is just a timewaster. Beta time waster?

I posted inquiring about more mercs and maps, because I am considering buying a merchant or two.

Though if I do buy, the amount spent will be reflected in how much I can expect from the game.

A paid beta is one that you have to pay to get into. Seeing as how this game is free to download, it can’t be a paid beta. Just because you have the option to buy stuff from the shop does not mean it’s a “paid beta”.

Semantics really.

I meant that the game is labeled as a “beta”, its says so in various aspects and loading screens of the game.

Though you can still pay money to buy things in game. Which is a bit odd. If I did spend money in game, then i’m paying to play a beta. Not something I’m keen on doing really.

As I stated I have been playing for a number of days now, and while I enjoy the game, the number of maps is very limited and playing them over and over is starting to become repetitive.

And as a side, the lack of an anti hack is a bit discouraging. I have seen a couple of blatant hackers, which is disappointing, and sad for the game just being a “beta”.

I would like to know, preferable from the makers of the game, what to expect from the game before I spend real life money.

If I did spend money in game, Not something I’m keen on doing really.

So dont spend money on the game. solved. now u dont have to worry about all that other nonsense you were spouting and just go back to having fun playing the FREE game.

u had the difference explained to you that this isnt a “paid beta”. If u dont get it then thats on you. The maps are limited because its not the full game. Hackers suck but are in any MP game and its being looked at. The “makers of the game” are busy.

On maps:

Somehow i dont think u are getting bored of the maps because ur finding the game too easy and just dominate everyone so there is no challenge.

This isnt a SP experience. You should see “the game” as getting good at the FPS part of the game. Learning a map is part of that but also good aim, situational awareness, creating and executing strats not to mention getting in with a clan and doing comp. There is a lot to aim for.

So dont spend money, try to get better at the game, and i shall See you on the servers :wink:

The gameplay is what keeps it exciting, not the map - though new maps are nice! If you’re already bored of the current maps, you’re going to get bored very fast with any new maps. Probably better having more realistic expectations.

I would like to pay the developers some money, they made the game, and it’s only fair to pay them for their work.

I guess the answer to what I would like to know, is that there are no “official” planned content or release schedule.

From what I could surmise thanks to the person who pointed me to a wiki page, is that at least 4 more mercs are eventually coming, and 3 more maps.

Maybe I will buy one merc, as a show of support for the amount of fun I am having with the game.

I would like to perhaps buy more, though it’s hard to say how the game will expand, and if it has staying power.

The starter bundle is decent for what you get, but it just boils down to how much you like the game and whether it’s worth that much to you.
