new map project, need some help.

I was wondering if it is possible to make a trigger that would change the gravity, in that place. Because I made like a jump, and on the downhill side I would make the gravity like 1200 so you go down faster, but on the uphill side and the traject of flying like 500 so you can go really far.

Another thing would be making some kind of portal, if you step in it, it brings you to another place…

Any tuts on these things will be appreciated, because I can’t seem to find anyting

Not possible without a mod.

Make a brush with common/trigger-> make into a trigger_teleport->target it to a misc_teleporter_dest. For example.

Make a very long slide and use the common/slick texture. I’ve found you can reach a maxium speed and make an incredibly long jump if you time it right. Also you might want to put a common/cusion texture at the end or you may explode when hitting the floor.

Yeah. I didn’t read the first thing very well :o, my mind was stuck to the gravity changing I think. You can do a long slide and you can gain some huge speed on it. Is it for a tj map right?

Not really for a trickjump map, I discoverd the slick texture, made a huge slide + jump, and water at the end. But I tought of making it into a real map, however the objectives I had in mind were jumping OVER the water, into a small room(landing on a cushion to stop exploding ofcouse :slight_smile: ), and there would be like 9 rooms, each with some kind of portal and only 1 leads to objectives. But actually I don’t need the change of gravity as I can just move the water and rooms closer :).

I don’t know if you make on of this, but the . is just the floor, first you have a long slide, then the pool with the * and then each # is a room.

another question: Would it be possible for each portal to lead you to a random place, for example room 1 leads to:

  • objective
  • Any other room

Room 2:

  • any other room
  • axis spawn

It sure is. You just have one dest for each room. They all have to have same targetname. For each SEPARATE portal teleporter trigger give the same target that targets the dests. Then jumping into a trigger randomly teleports you to one of the dests.

You Could Also Have a Boost trigger instead So You basicly picked up heaps of speed before you jump, its kind of like jump pad but more of a zone and vertical =D
