New map on server won't load anymore?

I have been trying to put new maps on our server and so far everything went just fine. But now I can’t load the new updated maps anymore. The new maps are Caen and my own homemade map.
I simply put the map’s pk3 in etmain and even added them to the stopwatchcycle.cfg file. I have allways been able to upload new maps and I could play my own map, but now it won’t work anymore. When I use: /ref map <mapname>, all it says is “Referee server settings change” and not “Server restarting”. Why doesn’t this work?

Couple possibilities for you to check.

  1. More than about 90 meg (give or take) of .pk3’s in a servers’ ETMAIN directory cause problems. Move a couple maps out & see if it helps.

  2. Are you sure you’re using the right map name? Take a look at the trouble-causing .pk3 in winzip - the name of the .bsp file is the ‘true’ mapname from .cfg perspective.

Just 2 ideas…

Well, we do not have a lot of pk3 files. A true minimum, so that’s not it.
And since I made the map myself it’s really the same as the name in the cfg file. And I’ve checked for Caen too, it’s Caen.bsp, with capital…, but ET’s not casesensitive (right?).
Anyway, for as far as I know, the cfg files are not needed to play a map. It’s just extra map data, but the map can also simply use mapdefault.cfg and other than that there are no cfg files doing with maps. Except offcourse the mapcycle’s, but I don’t beleave you don’t need that to run a map. If so anyway, I have put my own map in there.
