new map maybe.

hi guys! it’s 2 month’s ago i was here. The last map was the succesfull map aa-guns. And now I’ve plans for a new map.
it goes about a railway, objectives unknown, maybe somebody have a good idea of some objectives.
The map get a couple rooms (8 or 9, something like that). I’ve almost finished 1 room, only the mountain must I create. And here are 2 screens of the 1st room:


Must I work on this project or leave it?

The pics are very very dark. But as far as I can see from the pics the map is very worth to make. Looks really nice for so far.

the ambient is now 25 in stead of 15 :slight_smile:

the buildings on the top gives for the eye a bigger map:P but it isn’t, it’s fake.

The pics improved a little. Wouldn’t it look nice, if you’d make the buildings higher? Like 2 times higher. And make there a stairs same style it is now which goes to every level, but is blocked. I don’t see what the holes represent really, but I guess they might be windows or something. I wouldn’t keep the same theme for every floor. You could change the textures and shape for the upper floors or something.

What kind of objectives are you thinking of? How about dynomiting an armoured traincar to get docs; to take to a radar to be transmitted or something… have room for a tank or something to drive around? :stuck_out_tongue:

i thought about these objectives:

  • bring the key at the generator (generator shut down, smoke dissapears (the smoke damage you because it’s hot) and 3 ways are open that leads to the radar)
  • destroy the radar
  • destroy the crane
  • destroy the office with important papers

now make the houses 10 times higher, and make rain, and make fov on the bottom, and make realy hard way to get to the top, and obj is to get to the top and take and hold a flag. and remove trains :slight_smile:
i thoughu said u didnt had time to map, come to us and we can finish nomansland project instead :slight_smile: :evil:

Now it looks REALLY alot more cool. It’s great now. There might be an idea to make obj related to getting up. And could keep the train etc. as decoration. It could start from the trains for attackers. And they should make their way up with a lot of axis defend points and dyno walls etc. Don’t think more capture floor maps is needed. There’s one good map for that.

Or then Keep the buildings as decoration, and make many similar stages with something going on down there. First floor could be used for alternative route, corridors, spawns, supplys etc.

I think players would prefer it with more [brighter] lights or a compile with -gamma higher than 1.

Setting the ambient higher is another option.

I think more lights would preserve the night atmosphere best.

looks nice, but what about changing the texture for the metal roof and the trainwagon roof. both havin the same texture is not that realisitc.

Looks good, but try to create some more variation in the textures. Some blending on the rocks would look nice, and just some other textures here and there instead of the same ones on all walls etc… Would look much better!
