New ideas for the game!

(Swifty) #1

Okay so there’s quite a few wild and wacky ideas maybe far fetched that came into my head. There is no idea tab so just thought i’d post it here.

Gamemodes -

Infected gamemode

Two people start as the ‘infected’ (Phantom with green skin) and when he hits one person they automatically switch team and become infected. This could be quite fun if the maps are changed around and have surivival aspect to them. To make the game balanced and more interesting, they could be able to purchase baricades and things in the map. Perhaps they start off as a ‘recruit merc’ and they have a choice to purchase guns, abilities and more. Each kill gains them say $10 in game and say a gun or abilitiy like bushwackers turret costs $2000 or something. The recruit person can be edited outside of the game so when everyone spawns they have a unique looking character so nobody looks the same.

Capture the flag

Both teams have a flag and the other team has to capture the flag and bring it back to their own base. When you pick up the flag you have to switch to your secondary weapon or you can hit people with the flag as your carrying it. 5 captures to win. You can’t run with the flag so your teamates will have to protect you.

VIP/Guardian

One person starts off as the VIP and you have to protect that person. The aim of the game is to kill their VIP before they kill yours. Respawns are unlimited except when your VIP dies. You have to kill their leader and then kill them to win the game. 4 rounds per game.

Moshpit mayhem-

Melee weapons only and 4 lives only. Perhaps a free-for-all or maybe in teams you decide which would be better.

Customisation -

Keep the random loadout cards but can we have a customisation for like say if I want to spend credits or irl money to upgrade my bushwacker turret for extra health or be able to shoot incoming grenades then I can spend extra 400 credits or something. Maybe able to put your own sights on your guns, I like the M14 but I wanna put a scope on it or maybe a grip why can we not do that already?

P.s. They ideas have been taken off some other games and altered a bit but does it really matter? They seem to be fun so why not put them in a dirty bomb enviroment and see how it works. Perhaps beta builds and have a vote.

I think this game is marketed as a competitive shooter, not as a “tf2 community server”

(Swifty) #3

No but not everyone who plays competative shooters are serious. Everyone has different playing styles and so on. People play shooters and are casual you know. Have an open game for many different types of players rather than narrowing it down to one set, thats how you put people off playing saying most people are casusals.

I don’t like it.

first of all:this post is in the wrong zone. it should be part of the suggestions
Second of all: NO

Instead saying no, tell me no and then why or what you’d do to improve. Cmon guys have constructive critism atleast.

CTF would be great. The other modes mentioned aren’t my cup of tea but could be possible when community servers are a thing (maybe).

I am 100% against customization.

SD has mentioned adding a scope or improving the sights on the Grandeur. Hopefully soon™.

Okay:
Infected gamemode. Unbalanced. Characters have different speeds. Have fun trying to melee a Proxy or an Aura as an “infected Phantom”.
CtF. Can work, I bstill believe gonna be boring for some classes. If a mode is boring for some classes, it’s a bad mode. Overall the most “can work” mode.
VIP. Seems super boring to me when you gonna be the VIP. If I’m so important, why should I even fight and not hide back?
Moshpit Mayhem. No. Melee gamemode does not work as Ive experienced it. Some classes are insanely OP while others are nearly useless. Same for weapons. Katana will dominate due to AoE swings and damage. Kukri is the utter crap in a melee mode due to broken range of it.
Customization would work, but requires a shitton of work and balancing.
