I hope you don’t get me wrong now :drink:
I think there are lots of sites out there with tutorials, prefabs, models and so on but it’s not really easy to find the information you need at a given time. A very good collection and starting point for mappers is the sticky thread “TUTORIALS AND ET MAPPING RESOURCES” in this forum, but tbh this thread isn’t “perfect”
I’d prefer a website trying to categorize and sort the variety of information (an index by topics) instead of having the next website with it’s own stuff. I’ll try to explain it better. Have a look at Detoeni’s nice tutorials for example. These tutorials belong to different categories and if you don’t know his site and don’t remember which kind of tutorials he wrote, you will hardly find them. If you try to categorize these tutorials for example you would end up with something like:
Mapping Tutorials
— Shader - bump mapping howto
— Models - ASE model howto
— Brush manipulation - arched roof / vaulting
…
All other tutorials, threads and useful information should go in an index like this. It would make life much easier if you have one site where you start searching your information and find it because it’s sorted out
Just an idea…
