New eSports organization LF admins for competitions!

(primBridge) #1

Hello, my name is Jesse but some of you know me as Stevetheunicorn. I just recently got added as the first on a team of admins, but in order to start some competitive events, we need some more people in charge! If you are a leader, and you want to make sure this community has more of the competition it deserves, read on! And if you’re a player, be excited that a new organization is starting some more cut-throat competition!

CGL, or competitive gaming league, isn’t a new organization, but it is clearly new to dirty bomb. That being said, the sooner we get admins the sooner we can release some tournaments and maybe some other stuff as well! We are a north american organization, so NA admin’s preferred. Here is a section of text that the head admin sent me in regards to my position, to give a general outline of what work you would be completing.

“Most of the day to day operations will be rather minimal. Ideally, I need a group to handle in-game related issues. To be honest, I do not play the game. That means things like choosing a map list, server config settings, in-game disputes, handling glitches that frequently occur in games and how to rule on them, general advisement to the direction of the league are all things that would need to be handled by the game admins. We would also need someone to be available on the match nights to handle disputes, which I can’t always guarantee.”

Also, a tad bit of additional information. we need 2 to 3 more admins before starting dirty bomb competition, so we probably won’t take much more than that. Also, if you and your friend want to both be admins, that’s great but make sure that you aren’t just the other guys butt buddy and ride him and his ideas because you guys know each other. The more diversity the better, more diversity means more opinions to consider.

Once we have what we need, players will be able to sign up for tournaments, and possibly even a league! So tell your friends, your friends friends, your uncles neighbor, your grandma’s son (or your dad) about this wonderful new organization that will be coming to a dirty bomb near you!

Good luck I guess?

Got a link to the website? I’d like to check it out before making promises, but I’d likely be able to help.

Good luck!

www.thecgl.com The website is kinda old, but this is what cgl used to be, cod ghosts and bf4. As far as I know, dirty bomb is a reboot, trying to get back into the esports stuff. Before we start remaking the website and start doing things like that, we need the staff to do those things so PHPGator, the Head admin, really know’s he’s going to be able to have the support to make those things happen. Thank you for your interest!

Sounds interesting good luck mate I could probably help run tourneys and such. Have lots of information on running communities.

Thank you for all that have shown interested in being an admin! If you haven’t already, please send travis@thecgl.com an email with a little bit about yourself, doesn’t have to be a formal resume but just something for him to feel you out a little bit (no homo). Also, in addition to that, if you’d like please hmu on steam so that I can play some games with you as well! I can’t really add you to the admin roster, that I’d rather you email PHPGator for, but I’d like to know you all as well! So please add me on steam @ Stevetheunicorn so I can play with some of you guys! (also I’m bored.)

His mailbox is full

His mailbox is actually not full, don’t be discouraged I made the same mistake lol. It is actually not his actual address, it forwards it to his actual address to avoid random people knowing his actual email I suppose.

Would love to help, but I’m probably going to be competing once tourneys come out, not administering them

We don’t just need admins on tourny day’s, we needs admin’s to make rules, set up when, how and who on tournament day, as well as marketing. So there are plenty of other things to do other than just be a “ref” on tournament days. I was talking to kudochop about this as well, and I see no problem with being an admin and being on a team.

If you’re making rules and taking part… it has ethical concerns and a grey area, which is why I’m stepping back, damn principles

If you can be an admin and compete in these tournaments then I would love to be an admin as well, Ill be sure to contact you guys. As long as Im not being a ref I see no issue in competing. The majority of what the admin will do , from what I understand, is set up map rotations and set limitations as to balance the competitive play, these seem more like a community run event so it’s a common thing to have players help set up the rules since they are public to everyone.

Should’ve waited for a possibility at ESL (Electronic Sports League). It has a superior infrastructure and is the world’s leading eSports market. However, I wish you the best of luck!

Absolutely no offense intended to anyone here, just what I see.

-The website is very outdated. I don’t believe it will be good for anything.
-You will have better luck starting over or at least spending some time updating the site.
-It will be even better if you get in touch with ESL and try to get something going there.
