New Electronic warfare/tank merc idea

If anything, dirty bomb has a lot of variety. You have medics, you have snipers, you have mercs tham make things go boom, a black man killing people by throwing his balls at them ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), mercs who can lead a push, mercs who can stop a push and phantom. But what about an electronic warfare specialist?

My suggestion is:

Name: Erica (debatable)
Gender: Female
Nationality: German
Role: Electronic warfare/Assault
Health: 80
Sprint: 450

Weapons:
Primaries: Empire-9 (stock), Tølen MP, MP400
Secondaries: M9 (stock), Selbstadt .40, Caulden
Melee: Beckhill Combat Knife (stock), Cricket Bat, Stilnotto Stiletto

Abilities:
Primary: A pulse that disables healing/ammo stations, mines, turrets, kira’s and arty’s designators and phantom’s cloak for 5 seconds within a certain radious, even through walls. It will have a 2-3 seconds activation time and any damage taken during that time will disrupt it.
Secondary: A riot shield, with 250-350 hp worth of damage absorbing (but if something that does more damage like a grenade hits it the merc won’t take damage from it even though it exceeds the shield’s hp, you will just lose the shield). While you have it equiped you can only hip-fire and possibly have some accuracy penalty. She also moves at the same speed as a Rhino firing his minigun.
Tertiary (Optional): Being an objective specialist (to go along with her being an electronic warfare specialist).

From her abilities her role is pretty clear, being a tank. You deactivate your enemies’ deployables on the other side of the chockepoint and lead the push with your shield to take the hits for you teammates. While a very useful merc if supported by her team, on her own she lacks the ability to “bite”, since she might as well have a nerf gun as a means to deal damage with her selection of primaries.

I suggest you see either the Dispatch thread or the Turner thread. These are both very similar in terms of electronic warfare.

On another note, Turtle is coming, and with that, his own shield. Plus I think an electronic warfare expert doubling as a tank is a little OP, nevermind unnecessary. This would just tear through defenses, which, whilst good, is also biased towards the attacking team. See Croc or Evie thread for similar ideas.

@Brycko Wow, i just read the Dispatch thread and most of it is pretty much the same, the emp effect, the 2 secs activation time, the weapons, the german nationality :open_mouth: . But here is the thing:

  1. i wrote this suggestion exactly because turtle is coming. Turtle is one of the most, if not THE most defence oriented merc so far, so a counterpart for attack is needed.

  2. (unless changed) Aura’s healing station is OP as hell when you fight someone healed by it and it’s only counter is Phantom, we need another counter.

  3. Think of the old Thunder, he had the EMP effect on the concus grenades, the ability to stun players, the second highest hp pool and an LMG as his means of dealing damage. My proposal has half the hp of thunder, just the EMP ability and a popgun. Sure, she is hard to kill with the shield but when it comes to her killing someone she is effectively a Sparks without the reviver. I didn’t mention the recharge rates on her abilities but they’re pretty rough, 1:30 mins for the EMP and 35-40 secs for the shield. It’s not like you can sit on the other side of the wall and keep the enemy deployables shut down forever while cover by your shield.

  4. Both attackers and defenders need someone to tank some damage and/or lead a push on a choke point. Think of the roof above the first objective and generator room on the last objective on underground, the LMG shooting directly at the train truck switch on trainyard and a lot other. These are very valuable positions that both teams need to maintain control over during a match in order to succeed. So i wouldn’t say she is that biased towards offence.
