new DLC announcement makes me respect SD even less

(silver1) #21

We definitely need more explosives for the defensive team to use.

/sarcasm

I have no idea why they’re spending time on a DLC rather than fixing the major flaws in the gameplay.

(Sanch3z) #22

maybe SD should have included baby clothes in the DLC for those who like to kick and scream :stuck_out_tongue: How can anyone seriously complain about free expansions?

Thank you SD, I look forward to the additions…

(FoFifth) #23

Why does everyone think that because Brink had a bad launch that this DLC is free? Maybe SD thought, “hey, why don’t we make our first DLC free?” When Red Dead Redemption was released, Rockstar released free DLC for it and it didn’t have a bad launch.

Don’t think that SD is being “generous” because of a bad launch. Be happy with what you get.

SD is pretty well known for patching products out of their own pocket to take care of their fans. They supported ETQW and ET:W even after their contract was up. It’s actually the publisher’s job to make sure that the title is taken care of and works.

Like DICE makes Battlefield games. But EA the publisher has to support them.

Funny how when BC2 had a rough launch it was the EA forums that were overrun with hate mail and not so much DICE.
Imagine if there were 100 servers on your list.

1 of them has 9 players in it. On that server 7 are on one side, 2 on the other.
1 of them has 3 players in it.
98 are empty.

This was my experience with Brink tonight (a Friday evening) on ps3.

Would you really be championing the game so much if this were your experience too?
Honestly, that sounds more like a problem with PSN destroying the confidence of it’s online community, and the majority of them jumping ship to Xbox or whatever.

Imagine if there were 1000 servers on your list.

Then you filter the ping to <100, and sort by players

There’s a full page with between 16 and 14 players. You never have to look farther than that.

This is my experience with Brink every day, at any hour.

:stroggtapir:
Because it was SD’s choice when to launch the game.

You’re none too bright, are you?
pretty sure i read that bethesda pushed up the launch date, (brinkthegame.com its quoted on launch date pushed up) in my OPINION (i guess not much fact here) its all getting pushed up by bethesda left alotta content out due to the fact that it wasnt fineshed/ polished or they just werent very nice to those that pre-orderd and wanted to get a surgence of purchases AFTER the fact that we owned it from day 1

yeah its pretty similar between bethesda and SD forums most hate mail/ flaming is over there and alot more intellectual’s can be found here (alot more respect for eachother/ alot less rudeness)

Yup. Not SD’s choice when to set release date.

(shadyadi) #29

Wow I dread to think what the Bethesda forums are like. So many idiots on this one, like the OP.
Respect a developer less for providing free content? /wrists:rolleyes:

I for one am looking forward to these wonderful additions.

(AmishWarMachine) #30

I’m trying to understand the constant vilification of fearlessfox. Are his posts predominantly critical of the game? Yes.

But they are of the game as it stands now, with many recognized issues that need to be resolved. And with a lot of these posts in which he reiterates these issues, he also makes a point to make it known that he continues to play the game in spite of these issues, and with the hope that they are fixed, so that Brink can be the game it absolutely has the potential to be.

Brink has NOT reached its potential, and it’s NOT heresy to admit so and hope that some day, it does.

(BioSnark) #31

He’s too repetitive.

@op: If it’s free. it must suck.

/sarcasm

(BiigDaddyDellta) #32

I think the DLC is a wonderful addition, and if they planned to continue expanding the game this way then yes free is the way to go. For you to be complaining about that is just ignorant and makes you look stupid. as far as not playing with people, where do you guys play because I almost always get a full game.

(wolfnemesis75) #33

Geez, Angry much, Sponge Bob Angry Pants? Get real, the game is great.

PS3 LOL

i wouldn’t try to play on FPS online multiplayer title on PS3 in fisrt place…

(crazyfoolish) #35

It’s almost as if fearless fox copies and pastes the same posts over and over again.

You know I can see a lot of people very defensive about the game. I can understand that: no one wants to think that they’ve just wasted £40 on something that clearly wasn’t ready for release. I can also understnad peopel’s faith in the devs ability to fix all this.

But none of that means those problems will ever get properly fixed. Some games are just too far gone.

Right now, IME, Brink is unplayable. Not because it’s a bad game (though i have some issues with weapon balance, hit detection and map design in terms of the choke points), but because trying to find a stable match with enough players is all but impossible.

Bottom Line: if I have to sit on my arse waiting and hoping for players to join, or hoping that the matchmaking system can find enough players (either it’s broken or there are no more than about 3 peopel online at any given time), I’m not playing the game.

If I’m not playing the game, what exactly did I pay for?

So that you can come onto the dev forum to B*tch and moan?
So to appease everyone after a horrible launch you offered this dlc for free, with maps, items, perks, level cap upgrade, weapon attachments etc

Only after the horrible launch this became free to us? This game is pretty barebones and imbalanced, it’s like half a game to begin with and you were going to sell us the rest of it piece by piece or what?

Yes it’s a lot of stuff, but it shouldn’t even have been considered DLC to begin with. Be honest it’s just a bunch of stuff that wasn’t ready for your rushed launch, am I correct?
Nah your wrong.

(wishface) #40

Is there a need to be confrontational?
