New CTF flags for ET, Quake3 style.

Since CTF maps are starting to become a popular et map to make, and i
expect there will be more in the future ( as i am making one also )
i made some new flag models that are fancier than the ones currently
floating around ( including my old ones )

these flags are shorter and more beefier… robust?
all new meshes ( exiting flagpole from et used, but shorter ).
a larger flag in the quake3 style that waves, plus some decoration in the
way of feathers off the flagpole, just to beef up the backside.

the et symbols on the flags shimmer as it waves, like in quake3.

adding spawnflags 2? i think thats it, to the CTF flag entitys in ET will make
them rotate ONLY at their initial spawn. no bobbing unfortunately.

see them wave… see them SHIMMER!!! or don’t… i don’t care, but if anyone
wants to use them here is the link to get the zip. there is no pk3, since
these flags will not replace any existing flags in any existing et ctf style
maps ( since there is no standard for et style ctf at all ), but new maps
can use them if they want.

Very nice. Good job. I’ll make sure to credit you when I use them in my next CTF map (which will happen sometimes in the summer).

Suggestion:
Instead of using a red and a blue Wolf symbol you could use the Allied (U.S.A.) and the Axis flag.

or the bird (eagle?) sign for allies.

thanks for the comments, as to why i made them red/blue only, its because
i got bored of looking at the american/axis flags, they have been done
before… and i wanted a certain look like classic quake3.

besides, the flags go well with hanging wall flags of the same style.

I meant instead of the axis symbol use the eagle symbol, the one which is drawn on the garage doors.

ok… after some pm’s with troy, and checking out various templates i have
decided to change the allied flag to a mix of old style q3 blue team and some
allied imagery.

link above has been updated for the new flags, same models… new texures.
textures were created in blender3d ( for the bull work… )

in q3, the red team kept the q3 symbol, while the blue got a new one, so
ive kept the wolf emblem for the axis, while the allies get this new swanky
more classic ctf look.

now that you mentiion it, it does…
i modeled it after the quake3 blueteam hanging wall flag…

loaded as a background image and traced with verts…

the new et:qw strogg is based off that one obviously…

oh well… “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” or… is it eating
excessive amounts of beans that cause flattery… =P
