This means we’re changing the time that the Boosters are active for, while updating the ones that you already have:

If I understand this correctly, if you have some in your inventory, they will become the “new ones”.
Not sure about boosters that are already activated.

that’s sad…

This whole thing does not compile. It seems to me like a bunch of despised marketing-ish worded phrases thrown together based on the following:

The bonus (which doubled the base earn rate) meant that players without a Credit Booster felt like they had to buy one just to keep up.That wasn’t fair, so we’ve looked at the way Credit Boosters work, and increased the base earn rate of Credits in the game.

So because players felt something we all now get worse boosters? It is not even a realistic thing that players need to “keep up” about credits.

And what was not fair?

  • That they felt something about it?
  • That they feel something illogical?
  • That currently i do not need to replenish my boosters because they dont vanish in the time i do not play?

Now it is tried to brand the following as something positive…

  • Credit Boosters will now increase your earnings by 50%, down from 100%, and
  • will tick down from the moment you activate them on a real-world clock – rather than time spent in matches. […]
  • while updating the ones that you already have:

This makes the Credit Boosters far better value for everyone!

So to phrase it differently:

I now will get a half-as-potent booster which even drains away when i am not able to play. With said half-as-good booster i can increase an credit-earn rate which was already increased for everyone.

And that is more fair and better value for … ehm … whom?! I definitely do not approve the thesis you present.

But …

It is your game and despite having bought something a long time ago i am playing a “for free” game. And with this the decisions how to try to monetize and stay alive are yours and yours alone.

I just would like to humbly ask you to not try to sweet-talk this bullshit on us. This is degrading boosters and you try to present it as some kind of win (for us)

//edit: i just saw shoe’s explanation in the video and it is (for me) much more truthfully received that the above stated reasoning:

  • new boosters draining mode promote players to stay in game for longer
  • the more players are in game, the less time it takes to find a match and the better the match experience will be

cheers

@stayfreshshoe: just one question … if i activate my boosters now, will they be working as “only-draining-ingame-time” boosters after the update? probably not, right?

It would be nice to have both kind of boosters … for me (someone who is playing really seldomly lately) the “ingame-time-boosters” are really something of worth. I would never consider buying boosters which drain away in out-of-game-time.

@eitsch0r f you have any Boosters active when the update hits, for every hour you have left (rounded up) you’ll receive 1,000 Credits.

thanks for the quick clarification! If i may i still would like to reiterate about the marvellous ingame-time-boosting you started with. it was something that differentiated you from other games. i guess you can see that both as pro and con.

hey @jaso, that probably answers your OP question!

GREAT!!! So now instead of the faires boosters in the gaming market we now have the worst ones, everyone goes for.

Instead of ME having the power to decide WHEN I want to play, the booster decides now.

I play VERY irrelugar, sometimes I make breaks up to a month and even then I dont play everyday. The current Booster System is perfect but now … if that goes live, its gonna be a piece of trash!

I just looooove to pay money for a booster that I wont get 100% out of because I have other things to do in my life than play DB (even though its a great game)

If they actually go through with that change, then I hope they feel an impact on booster sales, because at least for me, I wont be buying any boosters anymore.

In all honesty I think i’ll only buy the new 24hr booster (currently the 1hr version), seems to be the best value.

Why not leave them alone if laready activated i have 20 ish hours of boosters that i dont want f@#$% with. Why couldnt you guys do like u did with the lead poisoned cases for the boosters?? Stop giving out old boosters leave them in tact and make new boosters a separate thing???
