new buffs for better play.

There are plenty of buffs in the game for a select group of classes, while others seemed to get rolled into one another. I just have a few suggestions (for the community, I don’t presume the devs would pop right in here and bow to any demands) that id like to discuss and maybe we could present them together at a later time.

It wa previously discussed that most players would like the operative to get an active buff, given he has so many pips to use and sometimes you just can’t throw enough grenades lol, one that was comonly agreed upon was a supply buff (giving another pip to yourself and a teammate) this would acomplish gaining more stock but also using that stock. A few others that have been mentioned are speed boost, cloaking, and silent running. Personally I find the idea of a supply upgrade to me most balanced and under used. (Even though it was my idea yes.)

Something I would very much like to see is the soldier receiving another buff to actually use, yes his buffs stack but they’re all one thing an extra clip of armour piercing ammo (do you get more xp with each upgrade?), like a grenade upgrade. Once the soldiers grenades are pumped up they look and sound and are pretty awesome it would be a great addon to allow him to buff teamates grenades to be just as useful. Now some may argue this is unbalanced and I would have to disagree given the fact that the soldier is already getting a new ability with the (free) DLC and there are only three slots you can manipulate, at that maybe only two because im not sure molitovs are removable.

At any rate just something to discuss feel free to add your ideas, arguements, and support keep it civil and please do’t change the subject (too much) we’re (mostly) all here in support of BRINK not to flog it so don’t come trolling my mates.

Here’s looking forward to the future,

Supply Upgrade is consistent choice for all 5 of my characters! Why do people feel like their opinion or experience is somehow a fact? Also, Operatives are designed to go behind enemy lines, and are balanced and very powerful currently, why do they need to hand out buffs? I think there are plenty of buffs to go around currently. New buffs do not make for better play, necessarily or at all. The game just needs some tweaks to bugs and some subtle tweaks, not changes to core design structure. Instead of trying to change the game, why not first figure out how to most effectively play each class?

I’d like the Operative to have a buff that makes melee attack an insta-kill. Should be applyable to self…

I just started an Operative Character in offline play against bots (hard). I experienced that it is pretty hard to melee an opponent. I found it much easier in ET:QW to sneak upon an opponent and kill him with melee attack. Here in Brink, I end up being insta-killed by a grounded bot whenever I attempt a melee attack…

Am I doing something wrong? Any thoughts?

i can play very well with every available class. but you can’t always be behind enemy lines you know? sometimes the enemy is just too smart then what are you to do? support role right? the operative is a very good defensive player and if he had a buff to give out to the team it would be giving him something to do when supporting. by your logic he should have an anti-buff that’s useable to the other team when in disguise… now that’s an idea but it seems you’d be given away quite easily.

Yes you can upgrade your supplies but there would still be nothing wrong with having an extra. the engineer can give you another by upgrading a command post, matter of fact he gives everyone another so what would be wrong with the operative using a pip to give one person a pip?

My post clearly represensts itself as opinion and discussion topic only so I don’t know to what you are reffering.

There are no one hit melee kills in this game. That would be horrendous with Operatives in play and a lot of people would disguise somewhere on the map killing someone who runs out of spawn then dieing instead of being useful.
Trying to melee kill (meleeing when downed) is just a rubbish choice to do on someone who isn’t incapped.

I agree one hit melees are not very practical, maybe an assasination would seem interesting if they’re were a deathmatch playlist but this isn’t that type of game. But the melee itself could use some improvement as well as the fall mechanics, I’m sick of knocking people over only to have them “slide” around on the ground and end up killing me when I try to finish them off. It also sucks that they aim directly at you automatically when you knock them over.
