Nice vid.

it’s a drag but
I’d love to see female characters in Brink too - I think we all would! In fact, we did explore female characters in our early concept art
However, given the realities of development, we had a choice between having a wide range of options for male characters, or a much more limited set of clothing options that allow for both genders.
We figured it would be the best use of our time to have a big set of quality customisation options for males instead of less and lower quality for females and males.

Converting male constumes to a female model is still lots of work, and would potentially take up more memory, depending on how it’s done.
Would we like them? Of course! Viva la difference! Unfortunately, as already stated, we have a memory budget, time limit, and other factors which hold us back from making female characters.
Also: Crossdressers aren’t necessarily gay. Gays rarely cross dress. Stop talking.
Already know this, which is why I made a thread about it.
As much as I understand their decision, I don’t buy it.

hey, what’d you expect from a company where there is only one female employee, who happens to be the concept artist, and probably has no say in how the game will go. I think the lack of female employees are deeper than what they just said, except they aren’t telling. But the first step is to hire more female employees, especially in the design area to influence their decisions. Even if you don’t buy it, they placed their bets and they went with whatever they think the odds are with the game.
And c’mon, the customization wouldn’t be as cool if everything were halved right?
Epic, though I must say Security equipment is much more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. The bad ass factor of that heavy ass armour is unparalleled, though I’m hoping it grants a defence boots considering it’s size and what not.
Also not feeling the heavy any more. They just look rather short and bulky, not the collosal beast I was hoping for. Needs moar TF2 heavy, less hunch back.
I’m not sure if this has been asked but, is there going to be Asian characters on the Ark?
Or is it going to be like ETQW GDF where Asians aren’t allowed to defend the earth?
What Asians do you mean? Most of the west-asian people look much like Europeans I believe. (not an expert lol).
ETQW had black characters as well, I believe it was the covert ops who was black behind his helmet. Or Fieldops maybe.

The covert ops was asian.
Anyway, check 1:00 into the video. The archetype is called ‘The Smooth’.
That was the field ops (as usual…)
Ha, I didn’t notice that guy. I meant East Asian.

wait, you can tell that this guy is East Asian?
They said you can choose your ethnicity, and the Ark is supposed to be MANKIND’S 'perfect future, not just America’s or Europe’s. In the video’s, there is an African, a Russian, American and European accents. So I guess it all depend on how many voice packs, skin tones, and faces the game will ship with. I’m sure you will at least be able to look Asian if not sound it as well.
Huh? This guy in the vid looks asian to me
Lol, I assure you, real life asians surely don’t look like that. I see it as a white guy with asian eyes and mouth taped onto it. But who knows, maybe I will meet some asian guy in the street who happens to look like that.
Very nice look. But do make the background (sky, environment, add birds flying) moving in the profile making. That’s going to add a nice effect.
That IS east-asian. You can go even further and change the skin colour accordingly.
You guys also shouldn’t forget that this is supposed to be one big concentrated multi-cultural melting pot a couple of generations down it’s path, so it’s likely that it’s already full of hybrids.

If look at player model texture there is an East Asian face used on the covert ops.
