Is it just me or did they make the enemy AI even more frustrating to play with? The accuracy they have is beyond ridiculous.
New Brink PC Update Brings End Game Chat and Lots More
so i appreciate the balancing of op weapons, but it seems in general that all weapons have been balanced for the spray and pray tactic. can we not hit what we shoot when we take the time to aim? seems like that is completely pointless in this game. but this is just what i am seeing from reading this. i’ll give the game a play again and see if it feels better.
Liking the weapon balance tweaks. Weapons could be more accurate (on first shot) but it’s not as bad as some people make it out to be. They just want their cake and eat it too. This is a game of tactics and decisions, more so than aim.
Gerund is still awesome, saw some people rocking with the Chinzor today, Tampa is a great close up gun; I even saw some ex-carbwhores using heavy and medium body types today (gogo!)
That’s because they just realised that picking on the fat heavy will now only get there skinny twiglet bodies
turned into Swiss cheese.
Go heavy! Go heavy!
Does it fix the AllocRenderModel error? I mean it’s been more than a month since release
look computer guys they are shuffling who is priority first consoles, as we had the worst problems off the bat. now computer fixes.
talk about game balance
edit: i meant this seriously -__- , im glad there will be less moaning and its great that the game is getting improvements in all its forms
Sorry if I’m misunderstanding something but having read through the weapon tweaks several times I still don’t understand how people are complaining about this update making guns more random.
The only weapons which have been genuinely made “more random” from what I’ve read are the Sea Eagle (Sea Eagle spread made more even instead of being tight), Tampa (Tampa slightly more jittery when fired) and CARB-9 (Carb-9 has even spread, instead of clustering towards the centre).
Every other weapon has either been made slightly more accurate or has had a slight increase on recoil, which is not the same as spread distribution. I think some people are also getting confused over what the term Max Spread means, as to me it sounds like the least accuracy you’re able to achieve when spraying. As such this doesn’t affect accuracy when bursting, which is a good thing to promote!
Could someone of such opinion please explain this to me?
Regards,
Nexo

Sure, if the bloom recovery time wasn’t as insane as it is today
Don’t agree with this. I don’t consider times less than a second to be insane for recoil recovery. Maybe if it took a few seconds to re-settle then I’d understand where you’re coming from.

Always have been, always will be. It’s why they get the pink armour. Their punishment for being so OP!
Are you hinting at palas in Brink! OMFG! NERF THEM!
Absolutely not! It opens room for interesting intellectual discussion. The alternative opens a 4chan thread.
In the same vain, if one weapon is somewhat accurate and the rest are not, you want to open the field for to interesting and challenging gunfights by making all the weapons more accurate and not taking a hammer to the barrel of the one that hits its target. The alternative is people sitting across from each other, rolling dice.

The problem with this line of thinking is really weird, because we’re only talking about one statistic of a person. Imagine instead - to try and wrangle this analogy into something more relate-able - is that the class also has social, artistic, neatness etc. variables as well. We’re not comparing just smartness here, there’s other factors to these people as well. Imagine that the carb-9 is really smart, really social, really neat and artistic, he has ALL of the best things, but he shouldn’t in terms of balancing. We’re not making him less intelligent from this update, we’re making him less neat, or less artistic so he has some “negative sides” to their persona.
I hope you know what you mean, but this is why analogies can be really terrible sometimes.
Also, a lot of the changes were really slight, but a lot of people are putting it in their head that this mean that the weapon is terrible, or it involves more rolling the dice. The weapon still shoots where you point, you still kill people better if you continually keep the person directly in your crosshair.
I have already adjusted my playstyle. Not using the CARB anymore for medium ranges. Been piling up the kills with the Ritchie revolver on medium and long ranges and now I am thinking is that going to get nerfed with the next patch?
Heavies still dont stand a chance against the light bodie if I open up with a shot form my Ritchie and then gun em down with the CARB or KROSS.
Only less so than before the update, that’s the problem. The game might only be “slightly” different, but it’s slightly worse rather than slightly better.
It’s true that accuracy is only 1 characteristic of a weapon, but it’s the one you shouldn’t have touched (at least not in a negative way).
Everything needed to be more accurate before the update, it now needs to be even more accurate again. You’ve taken a step backwards IMO, not forwards, and I expect the already plummeting player count to start plummeting even faster.
4 teeam that I know who run in comp have already made they choice since the update, they just quit brink mostly about the spread and … and pub still empty so …
