for me it has more like mixed strawberries color :wink: not so bad, but i’d prefer blood splash all over screen (incl center), with some transparency. can’t find any screenshots, but for sure u know what i mean and that kind of effect would be more realistic. it doens’t have to be animated, just make it disappear after few secs. i hope this will be a server side cvar.

I don’t like it, its seldom that a player has full health… So you have all the time this red stuff flashing around you… extremely distracting. Maybe for some berserk mode, lol or when on adrenaline it would be nice… but as standard when your hurt? And its a huge strain for the eyes …

i think it’s a good idea… but why not make it more and more dizzy when you get hurt? that would really make sense

Hey,

I saw in a brink movie, they also had blood on the screen, less blood, and it dissapeared after a while.

I don’t tell you that you should get things stolen fron brink, but for inspiration…

This is about the same as in cod, anyway I dont like the blood in the whole game so for me it doesn’t mattar. Despite that: good job :slight_smile:

Really, the only point I can see in this is if it was pretty much CoD. Which is what I have seen so far. Next thing you need to do is make health regenerate but with a new health HUD or like CoD in which the blood is your health… IDK if it is possible since I am not a coder. But couldn’t you do it that way in which you make your health around eh 20-40 hp with the guns damage modified and you can regenerate but it takes awhile to regenerate and you have that blood effect appear.

(also if you have photoshop I have found the best result for realistic blood is choose a dark but a little lightish brown and make the mode vivid light and it looks amazing. I have been using it for my digital imaging classes been getting alot of wows so I hope that will help)

texture for the blood = Infinity Ward and Raven Software (enhanced by Cambo)
sound for the heartbeat = Infinity Ward

Something similar could be seen in the Vietnam Mod (not with blood, but a similar effect). I remember it removes much from the screen. It was really cool, but most of the players turned it off, because you couldn’t really see that much anymore. I’m a bit afraid it will give a same result.

There’s very much blood. Maybe it would be interesting to let the players decide whether to turn it on or off .
In the end, the only thing we can do is wait and see. This was just my thought :slight_smile:

this should be server side setting, cause for example i’d like to play with this effect, but if other players will turn it off then it’s some kind of handicap.

Nice, I was hoping I thought if it for ET first :P. But only one problem. I think it is too slow when recharging.

Here the g_blood variable:

g_blood [bitmask]
This is a bitflag cvar that currently supports the following flags:

1: set the blood on the Knife on
2: set the blood spladder on the Hud on, when the player knife a other guy (The effect is only a pic with blood spladders, must be reworked!)
4: add the bloody view to the clients
8: add the death and heart sound to the cients
16: add footprints to the clients (Bug: In the area, because one does not see, no decals are generated)
32: add bloody footprints to the clients (Bug: In the area, because one does not see, no decals are generated)
64: add the blood on the players body
Default is 125
