Neutral Command Posts

(Reece) #1

Really need help with these, I read the manual type guide thing that comes with the editor but it doesnt tend to make too much sense (well not to me anyway).

I liked the guide on here to how to make 1 stage construction, but it seems neutral command posts are a tad more complex, can someone give me some help? Like a description of what to do or a small example? cheerz

You can check the goldrush.map that came with the editor, they have a command post buildable by both teams.

I wanted to make a neutral command post as well. So I took a look at the gold rush map and the script file and basically became utterly confused and decided it was time for a little ctrl+c ctrl+v action.

Neutral constructions are basically two constructions pointing to one “trigger_objective_info” entity. Have a look at single team constructions first and then it will make sense when you look at neutral constructions.

I made a constructable mg and sandbags from your example sock, the main thing that confuses me is how does it know what to look like when a specific team builds it? Its prolly just me being stupid but Im really having difficulty with it :frowning:

Each version of the construction is “owned” targeted to a certain team. This is why you have two versions of the construction objective. One is the Axis construction and the other is the Allied construction. Each “func_constructible” has the spawnflag set to target the correct team. When you target both the “func_constructibles” at the “trigger_objective_info” the game chooses the correct construction based on which team engineer is pointing plyers at it.
