NetLimiter marked as suspicious

(n4ts) #1

Hey guys!

I installed NetLimiter 3 Pro yesterday and just fired up DirtyBomb. Right after I launched the game it shuts down and I get a message from IGNcode:

0xE019100B

Error: Suspicious program detected. Please close any other programs you have running and restart the game.

Why is this? This program doesn’t do anything wrong imo, just monitors the in and outgoing connections.

EDIT: After quiting NetLimiter, I still get the same error. Below I’ll list all the programs I’m running atm:

  • League of Legends (Adobe Air)
  • Teamspeak 3
  • Google Drive
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Bitdefender
  • OneDrive
  • And some standard Windows 7 stuff.

Edit 2: Ok, uninstalled NetLimiter and restarted my pc. Things are working again.

But now the question remains: why is NetLimiter marked as suspicious?

Cheers,

NATS

As far as I’m aware it’s detected by the anti-cheat by default because it can be used for pack shaping/throttling. It’s a program that should probably have an exception on it for now though, we’ll chase it up and get it fixed.

Thanks for the quick reply Anti - I uninstalled it for now, as I only had it to check for malicious software yesterday
