The games netcode and server performance used to be one of the high points of the game for me. Now sometimes the game feels so laggy that I can only stand playing for one or two games and log off.
Personally I’ve felt more improvements since SD boys have taken servers in charge.
Less server crashes, less servers in terrible shape, less server suddenly pinging twice more for no reason, overall better sensation and less weird hits. And those were recurring issues during the two years Nexon had servers in charge. There are still issues, but overall, there are mostly due to UE3 binaries making servers degrade over time.
Also, they might have changed servers parameters to better fit to the 99% people who can play with a ping far below the 100 ms ping. Which generally causes more erratic situations for people having high pings, because it can worsen how the server handles packet loss.
Yes, there are more players rubberbanding, model hovering on the ground, but at least you can hit them. I remember the cases where a 150+ ms ping boy was coming right in front of you, you can’t hit him and suddenly all his hits on you register… I have not seen that in a while.
And no, playing with your torrent client opened is still not an option, it never was.
