Why people call “mapobject” “mapmodel” in ET?
Thanks in advance.

Hm, I think it just tradition, i.e. Quake mappers and programmers have always called the character’s body “a model” and other 3d objects in the map have been called “map models”.
These models often come with images, tga-files. (In other words, a model sometimes has a unique tga-file.) And the models and their images are stored together in folders. And, finally, they are stored in a main folder called “mapobjects”.

PS. The phrase “other 3d objects in the map” is strange, I know. There are tons of 3d objects (brushes) in a map that are not stored in a mapobjects-folder. I hope someone can expand/clarify this a little more in this thread.
