Need support to find the unbinding bug!

Hey people,

So as some people may be aware, there is currently a bug where all the hot keys become unbound whilst in a game or joining a game. We have been trying to find patterns for why this issue is happening but at this moment in time it looks to be random. Its frustrating because it is one of our biggest issues currently on live which is just rubbish to see happening.

I have had it personally when first loading into the game, as well as spawning after dying. We’ve tried multiple ways of dying whilst in spectator mode, quitting in different instances, loading in at different times, quitting whilst dying, as well as just casually playing and trying to keep an eye out of what could be causing it.

It has been going on for too long and we really want to resolve this issue, therefore I am asking if anyone has the slightest of reproduction steps or info on how they have got the issue themselves then please let us know!

Not one hundred percent certain if its since last update.

However, it happens most often when joining a game when cinematic is playing, when changing map or restarting map in private servers and coming in and out of spectator. However as far as I am aware it only happens AFTER a fresh game (first game since booting)

I dont know if this helps, I only had this issue when playing MM with a lobby of 5 friends. Playing Execution, Objective or regular Stopwatch I never had this issue.

i also ever had this in matchmaking, and only saw people complain about it in mm

Only happens to me when I load a map for the first time at the start of the session, on public servers through the server browser.

I don’t think I’ve ever had it happen. When you say hotkeys, do you mean q and e? Or all keys?
I haven’t played ranked mm very much, so it could be related to that.

For me E,Q, F and Mouse1 & Mouse 2 are getting unbind. You will definitely notice the bug :wink:

Oh so even the keys that get unbound vary from person to person as well? For me it only unbinds fire, ADS and the use keys.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never touched the bindings config file, or even the keybindings menu iirc.

That are the same functions but it seems you have them on different keys.

I have the following:
Mouse1 = Fire
Mouse2 = ADS
Q=Health pack
E=Defi
F= Use

No it only unbinds my M1, M2 and F.

Well, now I’m not sure if E and Q are getting unbind for me :smiley: But the other 3 for sure!

After a game update, I have occasionally experienced resets of the three keys I have bound via the secondary slots in the UI, the two ability keys and the use key, (my only rebinds,) but only at first launch and not consistently or in a while. I never experienced that unbinds happens spontaneously. Music volume settings resets after every update. I don’t recall having ever tinkered with config files.

I’m pretty sure the scope of this issue is unbinds that occur during normal gaming sessions, and not as a result of game updates, they are different bugs.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your input, it does seem to happen more often than not to the Mouse 1, 2, F, Q and E.

However, our super smart Gameplay programmer believes he may have got a fix for it, but unfortunately due to the hard nature of reproducing the bug we will not be 100% sure until it’s out in the public.

So once R28 is out, please keep an eye out if anyone has it happen to them or hear of someone else getting it :slight_smile:
