Need some wisdom/more of a tutorial

Okay, so I’m enjoying this game alot but it’s occured to me despite beating a handful of challenges and the tutorial, theres still a ton I don’t get. Maybe some I missed in the tutorial but I don’t think so.

a)what is my ‘primary ability’ and how do I activate it(the suitcase looking ability)
b)why do I see characters glowing blue at the start/end of a turn
c)digging deeper into weapon stats:the assault rifle is rated at 10 damage but its an automatic so is it 10x3 per shot or 10 total?

Thanks in adavnce

Thanks for the feedback! Explanations below:

a) The backpack-looking icon is the general ability icon. It doesn’t do anything itself (the energy icon being displayed below it while the menu is open is a bug that’s on our fix-list).
b) The blue effect you’re seeing is the Commander’s Backlash Aura, which increases the Return Fire damage of nearby teammates.
c) The Assault Rifle does 10 damage per shot - as it fires three times, the total damage is 30 (though results vary depending on distance to target, cover, etc. We’re reworking this stat to make this more clear.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems the backpack icon shows the energy required for movement. Heavies shows it as 3 energy where the light/medium soldiers show it as 1 or 2. Maybe just an odd coincidence in some cases…

Thanks Badman, I appreciate it. Did I miss all this stuff in the tutorial?

I’m glad you are looking into adjusting the damage ratings, I was shocked when browsing the shop and saw pistols are more powerful-then the lightbulb went on regarding multiple hits per shot. I think ‘rate of fire’ would be a sufficient rating, so an assault rifle would be ‘Rate of Fire: x3’ meaning it will hit 3 times per shot. To figure out how deadly a weapon is you’d just multiply damage x rate of fire-just my 2 cents.

This is correct (however unintuitive presently :D).

The new rating will take into account damage and shots fired, so it’s along the lines of what you’re thinking.
