LOL, you are asking someone to spend a minimum of 100-200+ hours to build a map for your team and have provided 0 information to indicate that your mod will go anywhere (e.g., previous experience, size and composition of team, screenshots showing progress, etc). I don’t think that anyone is out of place asking you for your credentials. The fact that you haven’t provided any and seem offended that anyone has asked, makes me mentally slot you into the category of, “I have a great idea, just need someone to build it for me”.
And yes, I am a mapper.
I don’t see why this is such a hard concept. You have 0 history here, no one is familiar with your work, no one is familiar with your level of expertise, no one is familiar with your ability to successfully execute projects, and out of the blue you are asking for people to give you 100-200 hours of work. Personally, I won’t even work with other mappers to crank out a project unless I’m 1) very familiar with their work and involvement in the community, 2) very interested in their map and 3) have a high degree of confidence that they’ll complete a successful map in a timely manner
I agree completly with ifurita, show that you are actually serious. Be it screen of in progress shots, some concept drawings, ideas whatever. And even if you do all this, getting anyone to map for your mod can be a pain in the royal ass. Trust me on that one. Lots of people like to map, very few want’s to spend their time on something they don’t know will get finnished or take off once it’s done.
I would help you, but I’ve already seen a very accomplished SWAT mod for ET, it’s called TrueCombat elite.
they have a point but if we only worked for ppl with expreince then we would have to play mods by the same ppl all the time.
why not post the folowing information
*how many mebers are currently in the team
*how near finished is your mod
*previouse expreince
*how far from the original ET does you mod differ (important as similar mods are easier to map for ppl with ET gameflow experience)
well
and for you LaggingTom, TC:Elite is a total convertion and swat isn’t, swat is just a mod, a big mod. =)
