Need help and is there a forum admin around?

Hi all,

I finally got in here and have a few questions problems.

1 - FORUM ADMIN - I tried to register a while back as Kernel 2.6.5 but never got confirmation email. Maybe it’s due to the dot in my email address? Can you remove that account and change my name on this account from =PoW= Kernel 2.6.5 to Kernel 2.6.5 ? - Thanks for any help.

2 - I started mapping a few month’s ago and started with the basic box map that has now grown to a monster.
I recently added a bunch of chairs to the map and after some errors found information stating there are LIMITS to what you can have in a map. I saw Chrucker’s site.
Question is: do chairs count as entities, models or both.

When I compile the map now, some of my doors are completely transpearent. The were fine before I added the chairs.

Total Brushes: 3033
Total Entities: 928
Net Brush Count: 2084

–And the big ones–
props_chair 271
light 58
misc_model 479

There are func_door_rotating and misc_mg_42 but not a lot of them.
The misc_model is mostly trees and shrubs.

Did I over do it?

AND FINALLY !!!

3 - I was interested in doing a fun remake of FuelDump.
I know, I know, it’s not original.
I wanted to make some over the hill top passages and underground tunnels to spice it up a bit.
I also wanted to shrub proof the objective (double jump).
How do I get permission to do this and can I get the map’s sources (since decompiling it is messy)?

u might be disapointed, admin post have become a bit of a rairity especialy in the editing forums

ask sd for the map but i wouldnt expect to get it

byt the sounds of what u want to do to it you will make a anaother super goldrush style map, these just arnt fun. the quaility of the design is clear between the origal parts and the extra ones and there isnt realy much cosideration for gameplay so its usualy far to easy for one team to win

remeber that the stock map have been made by pro designers who have though and made sure the gameplay is well balanced, if u start adding tunnels and stuff ur sure to tip that delicate ballance

As for the corruption of the FuelDump map,
I play (and admin) on a 54 man shrub server.
The people who play there are less concerned with competition and more concerned with XP collecting and fragging. With 54 players, the map is WAY unbalanced in favor of the Axis who spam the tunnel exits with arty and panzers. I was trying to change the map for better play under those circumstances. I know about tweaking the server settings to limit heavy weapons and artillary but that’s not the route I wanted to go.
