bassically is a mod for moviemakers… with glow skins, menu, new hud, maybe add rewind in demo, HDR effects (dunno if is possible ), and some more ideas… this mod will come public with a program, that change popups fonts, skins, sounds etc… i have a list of ideas… i post then… now i have to go

Ideas are great, I have a load of ideas that would make this world a hell of a lot better. But unfortunately because I can’t bring these ideas to fruition, nobody takes me serious.
Moral of the story, if you can’t do something yourself don’t expect people to do it for you.

There are thousands of people out there with a “great idea” for a mod, who just need someone else to do all the work. Strangely, almost all the people who have the skills to do the work would rather work on their own ideas. There aren’t loads of talented coders (or mappers or modelers or skinners) just sitting around wishing they had an interesting idea. Most of us have more ideas than time already.
If you want people to join your project, you need to show that YOU bring something of value to the project. If you can show that you have already invested time and produced something unique and interesting, the chances of other people wanting to get involved are much better.
Don’t worry too much about keeping your ideas secret. The effort required to turn those ideas into reality is usually quite enough to keep people from “stealing” them.

I liked your points Well i have a nice idea imo, but i dont know how to code. Cant rly do something for me :<.
Ok, i was searching around q3 movie community and i found that they have lots of things for the same engine of ET, like, they can record more that 999 fps, they have glow skins, programs for demos, q3me etc… lots of things that i cant remember. So we allready have a nice program for make cams (camtrace is very good) but we can have lots of more things.
So my idea is a mod with support for see etpro demos. This mod should have:
-> Glow skins (lots of colors should rox, for into effects)
-> Personal Popus (Only show our kills only. Configurable by cvar: 1= only ours, 0 = all aka default)
-> Menu for activate all the functions
-> Rewind for demos? (dunno if is possible)
-> Select time in demos (like a write 1.50 and demo goes to 1.50mins)
-> Add HDR to ET? (dunno if is possible, maybe change opengl system only for movies)
-> Add more Anti aliasing and anisotropic effects (trilinear sux, dunno if we can add more)
-> Hud for movies (well i dont wanna see next movies with same hud, so different positions etc. configurable by cvars. Cant remember more now. This mod (pk3 + dlls etc) will be incorporated in a program. This program have lots of options like: change fonts, change skins, change sounds, colors of objectives, see or not the head behind the popups, etc. After we sellect all we want, we press start. Program generate a pk3 (with all i said + the mod) etc. And then we open the ET with mod. This program have also Vdub source included (imo…) and all moviemakers should need…

This is a screenshot from my mod… I think everything works well as far as details go. The dynamic light and some effects doesn’t show as well in the pic as some quality was lost in the jpg conversion, but I think overall it’s quite nice looking…

Unfortunately the engine source isn’t available for ET*, so things like rewinding demos and modifying the renderer isn’t possible. It is possible to do some cool stuff by messing with OpenGL outside the game though (like Magarine did in the amazing RGB movie), but that requires another sort of knowledge than modding.
= If it’s ever released then I wouldn’t mind helping out converting q3mme to ET.
