native resolution not showing up

(AvengerIII) #1

My monitor has a weird native resolution at 2048x1152. With almost all modern games I see my native resolution at the very bottom of the choices. For some reason with Brink I don’t see it, the highest resolution I see is 1920x1080.
Anyone know how to make it show up or manually change my resolution in a config file? By the way I’m using a GTX 260 and my drivers are only a few weeks old.

You can bring down the console (Ctrl+Alt+`) and use r_mode to set the resolution in the game.

Use listmodes to display a list of resolutions in the console.

Try this at your own risk, not all resolutions may be supported.

You can also set a custom height/width in pixels. Again, that is to be used at your own risk and we can’t guarantee perfect results. I’d recommend not playing with the below values unless you know what you’re doing.

First, set r_mode -1. Next, customize the following values.

r_customAspectRatioH (e.g. 16)
r_customAspectRatioW (e.g. 10)
r_customHeight (e.g. 1050)
r_customWidth (e.g. 1680)

Finally, r_fullscreen 1/0 toggles fullscreen.

** You’ll need to enter vid_restart to apply certain resolution changes. **

Can this be used to fix eyefinity? 5760x1080, or will the fov then be all wonky? Most games adjust the fov where it is normal in the center then very stretched out on the peripheral monitors for eyefinity.

it works for eyefinity but the fov you is indeed a bit off 2560x1600 seems to be as high as you can go and still have it looke right. even then you still need to use seta g_fov 110 to get it there (and run in windowed mode.

that should be r_customAspectRatioV (not W) - according to the console

V = Vertical
H = Horizontal

(not Height and Width like the display resolutions)
