Name for Phantom's "Katana"

(Spencer1296) #1

I do not believe this has been brought up yet but technically the name for Phantom’s sword should not be Katana as that is inaccurate. As Katanas are uniquely curved and the Phantom sword is straight edged. A more proper name for the sword would be Chokutō. Chokutō are straight edged and of similar length. Obviously Chokutō is a less appealing and familiar name for most people, I still believe the name for Phantom’s sword should be changed to something else if not Chokutō then something more befitting.

To maybe help people better visualize what a Chokutō looks like it is the same sword that Sasuke uses in the anime Naruto Shippuden.

NERD!!

Google says there are straight-bladed katanas and they’re historical accurate. What’s your argument now?
And since katana means sword, every sword from the Asian part of the world where the word katana is used can be a katana.

Only new name I accept is “N00bSl4y3r” the Leet speech is not optional.

It has been brought up, but yeah it’s a Ninjatō or Chokutō whichever you want to call it.

I bet it’s quite a penetrating experience for the ladies.

we could call it a flopsieturtle. Brave phantom wielding his trustie deadly flopsieturtle has a nice ring to it

Phantom calls his sword what he wants. In his case, he calls it a katana.

(ThatRandomGuy) #15

Lets just call it… BIG LONG SWORD !

(XavienX) #16

Idek where Phantom got these stuff and decided to bring a katana to a futuristic battlefield.

(PlayingUndead) #17

Call it “The Wade” and then have him say he’s wading through deathpuddles.

Because, y’know… Wade Wilson… And he’s basically Deadpool… Deathpuddle…

Alright I thought I was pretty clever but I’m losing faith in this joke.

Kinda related: Not to deliberately copy CSGO, but basically copying CSGO, naming weapons or loadouts would be kinda fun. “You were killed by PlayingUndead’s AH, WELL HOWDY.”

That is not how translations work.
