So I have noticed if you grenade is in the air and you get down, it magically teleports to your feet as if you dropped it. This intentional?

noticed this aswell, wondered why i suddenly had 3 nades on my body when i martyrdommed as soon as i went down

Most likely it is happening because of latency, what happend is you were dead both on the client who killed you and the server before you shot the grenades. So the server negates the flighttime and resets the grenades.
That they still explode (and unfortunaly gib you in the process) is imo simply a case of bad implement.
