Nader or Fletcher? Help me decide.

(TeeKayM) #1

I’m on my way to buy all mercs. I need about 3 or 4 left and I need to choose between Nader or Fletcher for the moment right now because I want some explosives. Which do you prefer?

My playstyle: Rush in, kill people, do the objective. Which would be the best?

(Yes) #2

Fletcher.

(Jostabeere) #3

Nader.

(TeeKayM) #4

@Clown and @laudatoryLunch that was very vague lol

Fletcher.

Nader.

The truth. If you’re up for killing people around the objective, killing stacked people with nades and zoning them out with nades play Nader. If you feel like doing objectives with less kill potential then go Fletcher.

(Jostabeere) #6

Make your question clear then. You asked which would be the best, we answered. If you don’t like how people are answering, rethink your question.

(Fleshpound) #7

You can choose Fletcher but you will need to wait some time for Fletcher sticky fix.

(TeeKayM) #8

Is that still not fixed? Oh wow.

(Yes) #9

You want to do the objective, so I think you should pick Fletcher.

EDIT: I’ll also add that he’s really good at killing as well. I just killed a full team of 7 by myself.

Also great and totally mature of OP finding all of my posts from the last 3 days in various topics and disliking them because I critizided you. 10/10 part of the community.

Can we all be friends now?

(TeeKayM) #12

Ehrm, sorry?

I’m sorry that I have the ability to disagree with you on the forums.

All I asked was which merc I should pick and you gave me a vague answer. I’m sorry that I worded my thread weirdly and that my question wasn’t clear to you but you should really stop being immature about me disliking your posts or whatever. I don’t even know you lol.

(Vexed) #13

Actually, @TeeKayM, you got very specific answers. There’s nothing vague about what people said, they just didn’t qualify themselves. Your question has been answered in unambiguous terms - Fletcher is better for objectives (obviously) but Nader kills better (also fairly obviously). If you don’t provide any further information about which of those you feel is most important in a merc, then the answers you got are the best answers possible.

(Jostabeere) #14

You asked: “Should I get Nader or Fletcher?” Nothing more. I answered: “Nader”.
I don’t get why doesn’t it satisfy your question “Should I get Nader or Fletcher?”, when I give an exact answer on “Should I get Nader or Fletcher?”
Also what @Vexed said.

I got both and enjoy both, Nader is more of a killer though, even if she dies she can still drop that nade which will clear a whole room.
Fletcher is more tactical, harder to play than Nader, but he’s an engineer, so objective play is his forte. He’s the merc i have most fun with though.

“My playstyle: Rush in, kill people, do the objective. Which would be the best?”

Personally, I think you might prefer Fletcher more. It’ll take some practise to master throwing the sticky granades; whether it is at live targets or at the walls as traps, and finally when to detonate. (By clicking or shooting at your own granades, whichever is easier considering the situation.)

Thus, when you have mastered the merc: You can easily rush in, kill people, and do the objective. (Being an engineer means you will be able to plant the C4 or fix the EV well before the next enemy wave gets back to you and the objective.)

And yeah, I have seen Fletchers demolish entire teams on their own.

As for loadouts;

I am looking at ‘H63 Standard Close Assault’ with special interest. The reason is mainly because of the Augments that allow you to reload while sprinting (I love it on my Proxy), faster reload time, and the damage reduction from explosives (your own granades, mines, and other explosives).

Not to mention that as you intend to rush in, which means getting close up and personal with the enemy. Hence shotguns might be your weapon of choice, and with your mobility and reload speed, I think you should be able to keep on shooting and possibly even flank around your opponents.

The downside to this loadout is range. And if you just cannot use a shotgun, (I am one those individuals), then you might want to look at: ‘BL33 Standard Operative’ loadout. It is not as ideal, but the Quick Draw augment means you can switch faster between all your weapons; throw granades and then follow up with ‘SMG’ bursts of fire. The faster health generation kind of makes sure that you will be at full health when the next enemy wave arrives. And I guess it is little bit handy to avoid the fall damage occasionally. (Mostly in the Terminal map I guess.)

But… please take this suggestion with a grain of salt. My personal experience with Fletcher is very limited as I prefer Nader. (Granade launcher comes with a rather long firing range.) But were I to get serious with Fletcher, I would choose between those two loadouts.
