I’m a new player and not a huge Nader fan as I consider her UP but I just played a game of terminal where I felt we had the C4 well under containment and twice a Nader ran into our area after using grenades and then martyred before we were able to put her down. The first time she took out our Aura and the second time the healing station and we lost control of the area. This made me think of Nader a little differently as a area control merc. I had always considered Bushwacker one of these but more defensively. There are a ton of “outside” area control Mercs (Skyhammer, Kira, Arty) but I guess until today I never thought of Nader as an indoor offensive area control merc. Do many of you play her this way? Is it effective? Nader is out of rotation but I was wondering if this is a decent strategy or not and whether it is worth buying her.

Nader is definitely a control merc. With 5 grenades and a relatively low cooldown, you can keep an enemy team locked down in a corridor or room if they can’t get direct hits on you. And if you get directs they’re going to have to back out before you do.
And while Martyr isn’t really the best thing to rely on, you can, if all else fails (I mean come on, your nades bounce, use those to destroy stations and entrenched players), bum rush the enemy’s holding and blow 'em up.
