Nader & Bigger Blast

Any experienced Nader player here who can tell me if Bigger Blast is a must-have, nice-to-have, or no-need-to-have for Nader? Would be great, if you have time for some explanation. Thx a lot.

I’d say nice to have. You still use your gun more than your grenade launcher. About 70% gun 30% launcher. So its nice to have when you do use it.

CR81 and SM42 were very popular in gen 1 and both were carried over to gen 2. Both of them have Bigger Blast and to me at least they are still the best.

Bigger Blast is mostly useful for shutting down areas, not for getting kills per se. For instance, if you’re trying to prevent an enemy from disarming and you don’t have enough health to fight them, you can just use indirect fire and keep dropping nades on the bomb site. In these situations, that extra blast radius keeps more of that objective area covered.

That said, there’s not really any other augments that Nader gets that are better than Bigger Blast anyway, so you might as well use the card with BB, since the others aren’t any better. Although, if you opened up a very nice card (Cobalt/Special Edition etc.) and it’s a Nader card that doesn’t have Bigger Blast, then don’t worry about it too much - I’d still use it just for the swag =P

Relying on the Grenade Launcher only is the #1 mistake inexperienced Naders make. I go back and forth with two Gen 1 CW Naders cards I got, SM41 and SM72. SM41 is nice and all with Bigger Blast, but I don’t think it’s a perk that’s as useful. I run out of ammo a lot, so I find spares to be much more kind to me than Bigger Blast, but my main argument is that as Nader, the only time splash damage nades are ever useful is if there’s a nest you need to clear out, and I’m pretty sure five nades into a nest will clear out just about anything in there. When using nades, I always try to focus more on getting impact nades than anything. It’s jsut much more satisfying to smack down Proxies and Auras than to spam at their feet and switch to a gun.

I’d prefer the more useful perks on the SM72 over Bigger Blast, even though it does have a Stiletto.
