Of the number of NA testers that were invited to the Alpha a good number either cannot run the game or no longer want to participate in the testing. I know that SD wants to put a limit on the special invites, but we can’t seem to get an active group to grow on our side. I just wanted to see if there was a way that SD could contact it’s inactive testers and see if they planned to return at some point, and if not maybe the testers would be willing to revoke them so that we can get new players to conduct more regular tests in our region. Not pressuring this, just hoping there’s a solution to our problem. I know it’s Christmas break also- so not picking on people who are temporarily preoccupied with that.
NA Tester Base
Sucks to hear this. I am still in touch with Mattc0m, I think he’d be good for this (I thought he was invited, actually). Also guys like killanip, bN and some others.
I’ve only seen the testers I invited and maybe half of the others. Even my own invite to hardcore turned out to be a waste as he gets too low of a frame rate to want to play the game. Matt did get an invite, but I haven’t seen him online yet… :o
I had played a few times, some was by myself to just check things through. When I joined up with a full server the game kind of lagged, and I’m confident it’s that I need more RAM (only have 3gig heh) as everything else is beyond what’s called for. Was planning on picking it up last weekend but ended up not being able to, Saturday I will be getting it and then will be available to play pretty much whenever, given it’s alright with the lady friend.
Where is everyone? It’s so difficult to want to play when we can only muster up to 8 people at max :(.
Sorry, I’ve been very limited for a couple of weeks, but will be back on the 27th.
When are days when there’s usually a good amount of NA testers? I generally don’t see people on when I look. I’m East Coast, btw.
Also I suck at this game
I could round up 30 reliable west coast ET addicts without breaking a sweat, if I had enough beta keys to do it with…
I think its still too close to the holiday season to expect regular attendance.
I for one do regular spates of overtime, so I can’t seem to catch when any of you are on. Probably won’t for another 7 days either.
Perhaps we should consider setting up a steam group so that we can spot who’s online and can hit eachother up for some activity.

Good idea the steam group …im on one DB group …but its not an player offical one …I want to join a DB real one on steam …my nick is cudaker btw
If you create a Steam Group make sure not to name it anything related to the Alpha perhaps.
possible to make it private ? Only for Pre Alphaners
we could do a thread here with all our steam nick
eg
rookie1=Cudaker
I’ve started one called TERRORTORY. When I get home from work I will start inviting.
i had a really really bad flu all through christmas holidays and i am still recovering…i will be back when i am better
I get on now and then, but I am really looking forward to an expanded tester base and/or when the game goes into beta. Playing matches and trying to offer feedback based on my experience, seems less than optimal. There have been basically 3 scenarios I have encountered -
- occupy a server by myself or with 2-3 other people and ‘mess around’ due to mnot enough people for an actual match.
- play a match where I am usually grouped with either comp players, or veteran FPS’ers who either prefer shooters or play them exclusively.
- try to test out mechanics on a (semi)populated server, only to be shot at and killed constantly, despite me saying, “stop killing me, I’m trying to test things out.” This is usually met with with a “participate or leave,” mindset, and this is on servers where a pug or even a match, is not scheduled or taking place.
I would really like a broader playerbase, to group up with and play/test. This would make it easier to find matches (since 9 times out of 10 when I check the servers, they are empty) and would also allow for a more diverse range of suggestions and feedback on the game, since as it is now, any sort of suggestions related to gameplay, that could possibly interfere with or avoid the competitive aspect of the game, is shot down or ridiculed.
As for NA testers/servers not being great in number, in addition to the low amount of invites sent, timezones come into account as well. Ex - SinDonor is on west coast. I am on East Coast. I also work nights.
Sorry, was busy with Christmas, then got sick. I will be back on… loving it!
