n00b starting question

when i look at tutorials and screen shots of them the preview window shows solid with color where as mine is just wireframe, i tried clicking; show as shaded box but still is wirefram and cant see atal when not selected, HELP

check your view settings - do you filter anything?

Textures -> Render Quality -> Anything but wireframe
