n00b:shaders?

(Franz) #1

hi, im new to mapping here… i have helped my brother design for tremulous tho but wolfenstein common shaders doesn’t have caulk apparently… is it something with me or is it the “nodrawsolid” and also is there a package of shaders i can just download? actually im not even sure how shaders work… how do i put custom ones? a certain folder?
and also is the spawn supposed to be team_ctf_red(/blue)spawn? ctf means caputre the flag right?.. will it behave different than just a spawn?
thanks

There should be caulk in the common textures folder… :expressionless:

Welcome to the forums

I would suggest you to use the search feature before asking any questions, as they have been answered multiple times before, and if you still are not able to find the answer, then ask.

ET does have the caulk common texture, it should be in the “common” folder, be sure that you have:

  1. extracted your pak0.pk3 in your etmain folder
  2. Told Radiant where it can find these folders.

You can unzip pak0.pk3 to your mapping et installation. The caulk is in scripts/common.shader file and is named caulk. Shaders goes to the folder scripts/ and are named for example blabla.shader (filename). And the shaders goes into the shaderfile obviously (check existing ones for more help). Remember to add the filename of the shader file (blabla in this case) into the shaderlist.txt (don’t add this one to your pk3 tho, it’s for compiling only). You are right with the spawns. Red is obviously for axis spawnpoints and blue for allies. It is a normal spawnpoint.
