My thoughts on ~Guardian~

So i recently bought guardian, and there are my OPINIONS.

In general —

Guardian is a fun and unique medic, with no sustain, but faster than other assaults, and a new primary, and secondary. The Hurstall2k is honestly pretty good and fun. Nothing is more satisfying then shredding down every normal hp merc (assuming u know how to aim headshots).

Primary — Hurtsall2K

It was first really hard to adapt to it, because I played so much precious shar-c javelin. Its pretty much the opposite, but when you get in the “hurtsall” mood you can really do some damage. As a rapid-fire AR, it really isn’t that inaccurate. Unlike the Shar-c, you dont NEED to aim at least 1/3 headshots to make up for the spread to come. Also more forgiving, and just plain fun (as saiddd).

Secondary — Hoigat.224

I admit I haven’t used it that much, but from the time I have used it, its meh. It basically feels like a spammier m9.

Melee — Batons

Also havent used it that much, its idk… XD hold up

Primary Ability - Sky Shield

Ohhhhh god here we go. This is a rather complicated ability to explain tbh. Assuming you are in a situation where the enemy team has 4/7 projectile mercs, youll do great. The only issue with it is how it works. It basically has a paradox. If you want effective neutralizing, you need to put it in the open, however if you do itll get shot down quick. So then you put it in a safe space, itll do nothing except take down air support. Another thing is how much you actually help, but dont get recognized for. Anyone with common sense wont waste their ability on an obvious as hell shield. Although you are stopping them from using their ability, you get 0 exp.

Something I would like to see is 50 exp for placing the drone, and then 50 exp per projectile merc in a certain radius (according to the shield) every 2 seconds. And name it like “Deny exp” or something.

Secondary Ability — Bionic Pulse

Honestly this is just good… When it first came out it was pretty mierda, charge it for more than .8 seconds and you got a 44 minute cooldown. Now, its pretty good. Either play like sparks and start charging the second the enemy hits low hp, or tap revive the SECOND they die. And since its a bubble, you dont even have to aim it. One thing is that people dont often die all at once, unless they get JAVELINED. But still pretty useful.

Secondary Secondary Ability? — IDS

Honestly, i dont think this thing even works… I barely ever hear a tiny “ding ding ding”, and thats only when 4 arties designated like 8 artilleries. And the visual ques are so not obvious (to me, since im fast paceddddddd). I wish they could also increase the light height when its designated. (aka on airstrike, its like a wall of light that fades up, and a raising light string for artilleries).

In the end, i wouldnt say shes a priority to buy unlike javelin. Shes in the middle of javelin and hunter tbh. Shes fun, idk about AMAZING tho.

Tbh I wish her bionic pulse worked through walls. Mercs don’t really die next to each other enough that the cooldown on it is warranted, and her bionic pulse is more of a gimmick for people too lazy to aim revives. Would be a good way to set her apart too, since while she’s fun, she’s not exactly that practical imo

Idk about working through walls, as since its ranged it would be supper annoying to revive people. And yeah its not really common for people to die in a spot that tight unless they were nuked.

I think if it did light damage (like 10 damage per recharge second), it could be a cool light attack ability idk.

Something that could DEF be added is a higher max revive heal. Like 110 instead of 100, since she has no self esteem, a good balance is shes boss with revives.

I don’t mean like revive anyone anywhere within 30 meters, the bubble would still stop at a wall, only it would be able to revive people through obstructions as well, so whoever is dead has to be near the wall in order for it to work.

Having an ability that requires no aim do damage is a pretty bad idea though. But then again 10 damage per charge second isn’t even worth it, since the thing reaches full charge in like 2 seconds.

I wouldn’t mind giving her a health boost though. Her ability seems to take longer to charge up and revive teammates slower, so it would be a good addition, since nothing else about it really justifies the negative tradeoffs.

Also please give her loadouts with tough

Oh i see, yeah that would be a cool implementation actually

And i mean yeah ig, it would still be cool, like if you are trying to revive someone and someone tries to finish em off they are punished.

And yeah, yay health boost to refib

Hmm, maybe it would only damage someone if it also revives someone? That could be interesting.
Although large area damage with no indication isn’t that fun, so I’d probably want to give the area she’s trying to revive some kind of visual effect (she should have one anyways for her teammates).

Maybe for a visual queue they could do some kind of static electricity effect? Sort of like the ones in the mad max game, just before lightning strikes. A few can be seen about 3 and a half minutes in:

Yeah, maybe the damage is according to the people downed in the circle?

Like each downed person in the radius adds like 20 damage. And as said your visual queues.

Edit - YES DEF ADD THE REVIVE THRU WALLS STUFF

so many times where there ARE a group of down enemies, theres stuff seperating them and its annoying

Maybe give dome snitch like abilities. Any enemy in dome during
Revive gets the efects of the snitch.

Also another thought;
Should the drone deploy a bit faster? As it is, having a drone up basically means no experienced fire support will throw anything near it, meaning guardian doesn’t get any XP. Allowing her to deploy her dome faster would mean her guardian angel system would become actually useful.
Although if you buff the drone, it might be a good idea to give firesupports a very small cooldown reduction if they do hit the dome so losing an airstrike isn’t as annoying.

I’ve also noticed the drone tends to not destroy things that are already in it’s bubble while it’s being deployed, meaning someone can drop an uncooked frag grenade, have the shield deploy, and then get blown up by the grenade. Though this might just be a bug with weird ground geometry, since I haven’t really tested it.

Last thought, should the drone also destroy martyrdom grenades and mines? Since the drone is pretty spongy and people like to hide under it, I’ve seen a lot of proxies just toss a mine in there and shoot it, which obviously defeats the purpose. Likewise, I’ve seen the same from suicidal naders

Pretty sure Arty strikes can arrive slightly faster than its setup time making it less useful to try to defend from Arty so yes I think it could use a reply time buff.

Para 1 - Yes it should deploy faster, its only really useful on air support because they have a delay. No one will waste their instant projectile on a shield, so if it deploys faster it gives more incentive to deploy just before some rockets or nades come, plus its annoying how long it takes (always be gettign destroyed by nades and arties just right before)

I think it should take out martys, and idk about proxy mines, probably.
