So I thought I’d post this in the “Newcomers” section, but I don’t think it really belongs in there and usually on many forums for games people only read the General discussion, so I thought I’d get the most answers here. Here we go…
I started about a month ago when I messed up my leg badly, so I play ed a lot and i’m already Rank 8. I’ve actually played enough to buy the Firewall trinket in the last event, but Stellaris came out … so mi cycles went to credits.
I do have the equipment pack and the spamtrap trinket, though and I was wondering and couldn’t find this anywhere:
Since the even ended, shouldn’t I already be able to open the Culprit case for the Proxy? Just asking.
That would be the first one.
Second one - I love how simple to pick-up the game is.
It’s like someone slapped together Brink and Tribes: Vengeance. Really reminds me of these games. The acrobacy of brink and extremely fast combat of Tribes. Love it. However…
I know it’s a beta version, but I really don’t like the way weapons are split between mercs. Of course some of them would be really overpowered with different guns, but nowhere on any of the Merc’s profiles it says what weapons they can get in their loadouts. I spent my starter money to try to get a semi-auto AR for Aura, before I realized she can only have two of the three shotguns in the game and the Blishlok SMG. Considering I really hate the shotguns in this game, because I can’t aim in close range well enough and just suck with weapons, that have lof RoF. I also hope the game’s gonna get a lot of new weapons, like 10 different guns per Merc. I know it’s a lot, but it would be the tits.
Another thing - there’s lag. But only on one map and it doesen’t seem to be FPS lag, but stutter. The map is Dome.
I read something on this and just wondered if it’s going to get fixed or if there’s any fix I can try, like editing some .ini or something.
Lastly … the balance seems nice compared to other free FPS out there. Balance is always horrible in most free to play games, but Dirty Bomb is pretty good.
Only two things I don’t like, first is Proxies being able to use their mines like grenades. They just suicide run into blob of your team and throw the frisbee. And if you shoot the mine before it arms, you die and if you let it arm you die anyway if you won’t run, but then the rest of the enemy team gets you. I play Aura a lot and just die in one hit to Proxies spamming mines - they mostly don’t even use their guns. Bushwhacker seems to counter them well with the turret, but any other class I played just seems to fail. I sometimes die to a well-placed mine, but usually it’s the thrown one, not the placed how it should be played. This must’ve been suggested a thousand times, but a 2 second set-up time would be really good balance.
Second thing is Fletchers spamming stickies. They don’t even have to use their guns if they want to get to the top of the board. Fragger seems fine - one grenade, if he misses, he has to use his guns. Great against blobs. Nader is also very well balanced, surprises me how some devs actually know what to do. Altough the one-shot grenade on direct hit is a bit bullshitty.
So that’s all my questions and opinions on this game, hope someone reads this
