i undersant u meant well, but all i heard was negativity, might be more helpfull if u would offer some ideas on new features or improvement of the old.
all u did now was say “this sucks, i want more cvar’s”, of course that is a good suggestion, but dont drag everything down, just because YOU dont like it.
and besides that, u could try saying it with a nicer tone, like “i find it rather stupid/irritating that mp40/thompson overheating cannot be disabled, because…”

I don’t think I’ll release the Linux version or the clientside DLL for this version. I’ll just move on to the next version and release everything for that version when it’s ready :slight_smile:
I don’t plan on changing much for the next version since I made a lot of changes for 0.3

so far I have:
ADDED: Players can play dead (command: playdead).
ADDED: Finished the tripmine code (maybe I’ll remove it).
ADDED: Admins can disable XP (cvar: b_disableXP).


The bar next to the health bar is the armor bar. The bar next to that is the breath bar.

hey bacon, so far i’ve only heard about the changes (and now this screenshot), but i think it really wouldn’t hurt to release a linux version (demo version or something), so that the linux users (like me) can see and feel what it’s like now. if u only read about new features and stuff, u gotta leave much up to ur imagination, if u catch my drift.
just a thought

Linux version (as well as Windows version) of all 3 DLLs/SOs will be available when I release the next version of the mod.
I’ve fixed the bug that crashes the server when you hit somebody when the client-side DLL was present, and now b_recoil actually works!
There’s a feature that was requested a while ago (RtCW weapon stats) that I’ve almost got working. For instagib both weapons have the same stats as the mauser in RtCW.
The next version will feature a new weapon (maybe 2 if I can fix the tripmine code) and a new gametype.

i got a great idea, howabout u remove the breath bar, and base the air on stamina
if u have just run 3km non stop
ur gonna run outta breath REAL fast underwater
than if u have done stretching excercises fro 20 minutes

also pie, i cannot believe u think that team fortress was invented for HL, it is easily the biggest mod ever (WAY older than cs and still played by many)
even tho the quake 1 source code is released, and hacks can be written by anyone who has the faintest idea of c++ there are many who still play
i hope u watch some of the tf frag videos, or one of the rabbit run videos. cs experts look like crap compared to the skill of the tf’rs

but yeh breath should depend on stamina, and going underwater should take off ur stamina and start hurting when ur under ur stamina

It’ll be released when I get my new weapon model. This shouldn’t be long at all.
Also, I’ve added the Mauser from RtCW (still needs some tweaking).

i got an idea, smoke screens can make you loose health, you know, as ur choacking on the smoke
