My MAP >HELP!!!!!!

(G-Force) #1

I made a Mini ET map but > It doesn t go if I want to change the name to .pk3 file with winzip :frowning: help me please.

(Chruker) #2

Which files have you made for it?

If its just the bsp file, then you need to use the command:
sv_pure 0
g_gametype 2
devmap your_map

To be able to run it through the game menus you need an .arena file, do you have that?

What do you mean by ‘It doesn’t go if I want to change.,…’ are you unable to load it? Or can’t ET find it?

I must change the .map to .pk3 file with winzip < but that didn’t go.

Hi,

you must not rename your “.map” to “.pk3”.
You have to make a new “.zip” file with winzip.
Then put in the “.map” file in this new “.zip” file.
The “.map” file has to be in a certain path (I don’t know this).
Then you rename the “.zip” file (that contains the “.map” file) to “.pk3”.

Danke !! :notworthy:

Have you compiled your .map file into a .bsp file?

 How do I have to do that ?

(MuffinMan) #10

do you compile your map with an extra install of q3map2 or do you use the inbuilt compiler in radiant?

I used the one inbuilt compiler in radiant >named >Q3map2: (single) BSP -meta

(Drakir) #12

If your map compiles right then u will find a .bsp in your /etmain/maps directory with the same name as your saved radiant file has.
The .bsp is the file that the game uses and the .map is the file that the editor uses.

To test the map, open ET and while in the game menu bring down the console and type in the following:
/sv_pure 0
/g_gamemode 2
/devmap mapname

This opens the map in a non pure mode so that u can use all cheats and other developer stuff to check your work.

Doesn´t go > there comes > can find map/<name>.bsp

(MuffinMan) #14

is there the mapname. bsp file in /etmain/maps ? did you check it?

(G-Force) #15

I saw one in my> /etmain map < but not on etmain/maps >

(MuffinMan) #16

it shouldn’t be there and I can’t really imagine how that can happen, anyway copy whatever .bsp version you find of your map to the /maps directory

(G-Force) #17

It still doesn´t go < I paste it in my Etmain/maps > And I did every thing you sad but it still doesn’t go.
