My issue with _cc players. Player reporting...

(PixelTwitch) #1

Now I understand that numbers are needed for real testing however I and many other closed beta/alpha players are getting a lot of “stick” from them.

Since they joined the game I cannot count the number of times I have been called “******” or been told to go and get “raped” even had offers from some of them to have sexual intercourse with my mother…
I am more disappointed by the fact that I thought CC was supposed to be this professional community of beta testers (and a lot of them in all fairness have been very nice and friendly).

Also it seems more difficult to get full/fair matches as many of them just come and go mid game… die a couple of times complain about how rubbish the game is and then leave.

Now I do completely understand that we can expect the exact same once the game is in open beta / fully released however maybe now… as early as it is… is a good time to add the ability to report players?

I can understand them. The game is frustrating but thats not an excuse to insult other players. Just ignore it

(PixelTwitch) #3

Actually I have no issue with just ignoring them. I think the biggest issues is when they are messing up the game for other players by “trolling” purposely imbalance teams and rage/quitting at the half way point of matches much more then the regular players do.

They aren’t professional testers fyi. I looked up the website and it’s a “submit your application and fill out a profile” open sign up type of thing. The company I assume just picks alleged experienced fps gamers from their database, based on their submitted profiles as far as I could tell. I’ve received more of those types of insults from non-cc guys during my testing anyway lol, but I don’t go out of my way to provoke them either hehe *cough rex cough.

(Kl3ppy) #5

Thx, didn’t know that. But how come that some cc guys cant even walk ingame? I mean if they are FPS players they should at least try to kill someone.

(shaftz0r) #6

yeah i was gonna say, i think their qualifications are pretty low :stuck_out_tongue:

(Bangtastic) #7

Dang get over it, be as polite and nice as possible and if you see they are mega casual players give them some chances, dont go tryhard. Doesnt matter what they say, isnt worth a discussion anyway. Even some cc players complained im too bad as well. Some cc told i report u here and there which I thought was the typical hysterical bla bla. But most of them are nice if you are nice too, they even say how cool the game is.

(spookify) #8

Trolling is part of the testing phase.

(juno12) #9

The sign ups were posted on reddit and other places, so a lot of them are just random people who signed up to play, and since this game is almost nothing like modern FPS games where everyone dies in 2 hits and you don’t really need to be good, they are frustrated and talking crap.

The other group of cc guys are mostly there to fulfill their obligations, fill out the surveys, etc to increase their chances of being selected for more interesting beta tests of things like consumer electronics. so they log on when they are told to and probably do nothing, report no problems, and move on. Essentially padding their beta testing resume

When I played this week end ,in Victoria there was a cc guy aiming the sky and was turning around …the whole game :s idk kind of an afk taped mouse on a turn table

(modded) #11

What’s the website, my google fu is failing me…

(Bangtastic) #12

betabound for example

(RasteRayzeR) #13

Not for what they are hired for. At this stage it’s only annoying everyone and degrading player’s experiences of the game. I don’t see how “trolling” can be any relevant to load testing because lets face it, it’s the only reason they are here.

I think a lot of times we joke around about how there’s gasp “negativity on the internet?!” but I think part of our responsibilities as early adopters or whatever we are is to try to foster a community that’s helpful and inviting, especially in the early stages of this game’s lifecycle.

I’m sure that to some, that probably sounds a bit counter-intuitive, especially considering the genre… but it’s not very encouraging to new players to join a community of a total dickheads.

I have no doubt that my 22 year old-self would be kicking my ass for saying all of that… getting soft in my old age.

(AirRhino) #15

Nexon gave out random keys, the _cc players are not “professional” testers. Some of us are, but that is by mere chance we wanted to test out the game.

As for my experience so far, both sides can be extremely toxic. However I have seen far less _cc players abuse known exploits, or use other advantages.
As for the language, all depends on whether there side is winning or loosing, and how well they are performing.

You’re spot on mate! Not everyone will have that attitude, but the more that do, the more enjoyable and inviting the community that forms around the title will be. Higher levels of awesomeness within a community = more enjoyable community content, events, and interactions that will occur as a result.

Moving back to the abusive CC chaps though. While making the situation a little more understandable, the revelation that they’re volunteers does not entirely excuse their behavior. The company that they are representing is no doubt receiving £ for their services…and so that company should be looking to ensure that everyone representing them behaves in a respectable manner. Perhaps some kind of feedback loop can be set up to allow Codecenter to properly deal with abusive individuals.

(shaftz0r) #17

as someone who is old, but has the tendency to troll, its easy to deal with the cc people that are mad at being decimated around every corner. they can type all day, and i wont reply for the most part purely because it sucks to get rolled by us, so i cut them a lot of slack. now when baitfana plays like a huge homo on the other hand, or spookiterrible hops around like a huge noob, i might type a few lines. jussaiyan

(Seanza) #18

There was a turtle guy calling people noobs and useless etc. Told him that I’m going to report him. He shut up after that.

(Ashog) #19

Meh, they are mostly alright. Never had issues with them. From time to time there’s flood in chat (mostly including rex and cc  ), but who cares! No drama feels like empty servers after ETQW.

The only thing that yeah, they tend not to stay on a server too long and disc midgame often.

(Violator) #20

I had a good rant tonight as my desk slide decided to collapse and my mouse has been acting crap for some reason the last couple of days :frowning: Most of the cc guys are friendly enough and some not bad players in the mix now.
