My Game Patch Switching Utility For 2.55 Players

I apologize if this has been done before… but, I made a Patch Switcher. Hopefully mine is different. The Plan - A Patch Switcher for the noobiest of n00bs on 2.55.

- Comes in an executable installer with an install wizard to get the thing into the right directory.

- Allows existing 2.55 and 2.56 users to select 2.60b patch (among other patches) to play on, without need to upgrade. (Basically is a 1 click 2.60b upgrade program.

- XP, Vista, 7 Compatible (Vista needs to run as administrator)

Pretty simple basically, I took what was already out there… simple DOS Batch file stuff, modified it and voila. I think 2.60b admins specifically might like to promote this, as it is a step toward the endgame of getting 2.55 users to move up.

I’ve got it available on my website, should also be available on filefront soon. Right now its open download atleast for a week… not sure how long I can leave it open on account of limited bandwidth.

Don’t tear me apart too much, as I’m no programmer, just another 2.60b admin with no players and alot of time on my hands.

me and my clan have tested pretty extensively with 2.55 installs, 2.56 installs and 2.60b full upgrades as the base game installation… we seem to be able to bounce back and forth between all patches pretty seamlessly. Only issues we’ve run into so far was Windows Vista, you have to “run as administrator”. Glad its working for you… was kind of nervous actually releasing something I originally just wrote for the clan.
