My convert map Den of Lions: Lair to ET

(ziege) #61

He can prolly speak fluent English better than all of us, and is sitting there in hysterics doing this on purpose  I swear he can answer questions when he wants, but when somebody asks why he ripped off a map he ignores it and types some random words to confuse everyone.

Pls answer question… plz close topic=no no
Are you going to stop with converting my map over?

Trying to be nice to you.

(SiX) #65

Well good luck with converting it. I would have asked first personally out of respect, but we are freelancers so I guess there isn’t much that can be done about it. I guess while your at it try to make it more organized and proportioned, but that’s my opinion.

In reguards to mp_ress:
I experience that FPS drop as well. I’ve been through it in dev mode and r_speeds are within tolerable rates. It is quite possibly the rain effect used in the map causing the drop or maybe even a hole in the vis. However maps should be developed to meet all ranges of pc specs, not just the developer’s.

Why must you beat a dead dog?

I truly hope you haven’t caused this rash of a topic to resurface.

hey hey…
I just got here, I’m not trying to cause any problems.
Just giving my input.

No problems. It’s just, when this conversation was happening a couple of weeks ago, it was intriguing for a while, but eventually became mind-numbing as both sides continued to beat each other over the head with their ->

Six…damn dude. thought this was dead. I did it for a whole range of players if you read. From a GF2 ultra on up which isn’t my PC specs as i said. This horse i thought was dead …and buried.

Six make a map yourself someone plays. I have yet to hear anyone even comment on one of yours so whats that tell ya. Damn off the wall statements. DOL is a duel btw…pretty balanced from what i’ve been told… so would you hobags worry about your own damn maps and make your own worth playing first.

My  is bigger…lol. Ok enough please. thx

(SiX) #70

lol, I knew the my-maps-are-better-than-yours flame was coming… I’m not even gunna bother bud, you blew my comments way out of proportion.

(RivrStyx) #71

Hmmm did you read me saying mine were better… i said worry about your own and make some someone plays. Where did i say mine were better…lol.

And it figures you’d come in with a comment after the thread was dead… wouldn’t have thought any less from you. I have never made a comment on another mappers map unless it was asked for by the mapper or it was a beta. Whats with you fucking dicks. This thread was about me asking him not to convert it…doh. Are you kevinskis brother?

(RUDE_TLD) #72

Dood its 2003…get a system that can play the games right!!!

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted here, and I hate to resurrect this topic, but I just thought I’d update anyone that maybe thinks I simply ran away from this discussion. My Dell crapped out, so I bought some new parts for my computer and began rebuilding it. I went to a computer show a while back, but not early enough; I missed out on buying a Radeon 9800 for $100. No prob, because I still plan to buy a Radeon 9600 for a little more than that pretty soon. I’m not doing this to buy new custom RtCW/ET maps, though; I’m doing this for Half-Life 2.

All of this babbling about graphics evolving has nothing to do with a game that’s been out for as long as RtCW. Like I said before, my computer ran RtCW like a dream, both in SP and MP. Now, I’m unsure whether I should bother to get a new computer or not (instead of just updating my video card), but I DO plan to use a GeForce2 system to develop RtCW maps…and maybe even ET maps.

Why?

Because I’ve played both the RtCW and ET versions of certain maps, and I get VERY consistent performance between the two versions. I refuse to believe that ET’s game engine is so drastically different from RtCW’s. All ET really has to boast are larger levels and certain elements that strain low-end systems unnecessarily. Even so, as I said, I plan to get a new video card relatively soon. Just note that it’s only so I can play Half-Life 2 when it comes out. Or maybe so I can play older games as MUCH higher resolutions.
